I think Bernstein crowing about how the Cubs will now have a "real, professional broadcast" is disingenuous. I think he cares about Cubs radio broadcasts about as much as I do. I thought Santo was a clown, but a harmless clown nonetheless. Let the man rest in peace, and quit using this situation as a veiled excuse to take shots at him.

There's nothing like baseball on the radio. As a young man, I spent many a summer afternoon listening to Lou and Vince while fishing the Kankakee River for battlin' bronzebacks. Ah, those were the days...
I think Moreland will be a great addition to the booth. Pat will be able to do what he does best.

Moreland was my choice and he's a true Cub

Otto and Plesac are too dry for my taste, and to me they arent true Cubs

Moreland is funny...he will be a lot better analyst than Santo, while having a sense of humor about himself

Always thought Vince was a very underrated announcer. A great listen. I could only listen for an inning or two with Santo in the booth. Moreland and Hughes will be a good team.

The only knock I could see against Moreland is that he sounds too Texan for us, but I'm sure we'll get over that. I mean, he's not Randy Hundley, good lord. Dave Otto was from Elk Grove, but that doesn't go far when you're about as compelling as Elk Grove.

Otto, was like the classic sub teacher, who didn't teach that well, but was there because she was availabole that day when your teacher was sick in the morning.

Plesac would have been great after a while, but he needs TV. He is actually really funny, but might not come out as an announcer.
