This team sucks so l can't say I even care that Marmol got rocked tonight. 1 extra win doesn't mean shit. Here is my take:

The Bad: Quade is proving to be a decent instructor and bad decision maker. With Snyder and Montanez on the roster why the hell is Dewitt playing in the outfield. Why is Marmol left in to keep getting lit too?

The Good: Didn't realize my old roommate got called up by the stros. I knew he was in AAA, but it was cool as hell to see him in the game in relief and pitching well.

For me it's official, baseball season is over.

Can't really blame Quade for this one, your closer has a 2 run lead against the worst team (maybe second worst now) and you blow it? Marmol is what 10-13 in save situations? Not good enough.

Colvin should be playing every day while Soriano's is on the DL. DeWitt should not start one game.

Get him over to third with less than 2 outs and a fly ball will get him in, it's pretty simple.

I got it. I don't wanna give outs away.

I hear ya

I don't think it's "giving" them away but I'm not in the mood to bother with the discussion

the only good news i guess is that this team should be bad enough to not be able to justify keeping hendry.

i think i've watched maybe 3 or 4 games this season. haven't really missed much and haven't been surprised by anything. so my emotional level is pretty low for this team.

I'm all for completely tanking this season. Go for the #1 pick, and get these horrible contracts off the books. Play some kids from your system and see what they can do. The outrage over this season is ridiculous. We all knew they would be terrible going into spring training. Why get mad over it?

It hurts to watch it. In spring training, hope springs eternal. It's corny, but true. I just can't take this anymore. A while back,I said the new Cubs ownership must be Reindorf approved. I said the commish is in his back pocket, that's why it took two years to get them sold. The guy that owned them was actually a Reinsdorf partner with the Sox. It was a CONSPIRACY & I will beleive that until I'm buried with my Cubs jacket. No way did Reinsy want Mark Cuban, who as everyone knows would have dumped Hendry TWO YEARS AGO.

This is starting to look like the Wrigley era all over again. Complete with the Juicy Fruit ads behind the plate.

I was thinking more like 62-100. Make it as embarassing as possible.

I'm all for the Daytona/Boise/West Tenn/Iowa Cubs up here for the rest of the year. I'd watch a lot more games if that were the case.

You want to sit and watch this team lose 100 games?

I rather watch a bunch of kids get there shot and learn on the big league level and lose 100 games then watch this team with it's weird mix of vets/young guys lose 90.

That's what I grew up doing. Really banking on Ty Waller and Carlos Lezcano being the guys to lead this team to glory.

I can't deal with all this recent success.

Don't think you are fair weather at all. I'm going to watch baseball either way, so if I had to pick, rather get a glimpse of the future and maybe some hope we have.

Maybe Vitters will benefit from being up here etc. The season is done as it is, so might try to salvage it somehow. Oh, and fire Hendry.

I'm kind of surprised teams allow players to break bats over their knees (like Zambrano did yesterday) without any repercussions. It not only sets a bad example, but will eventually result in someone getting hurt. And it's one thing for a real batter to do it...can you think of any other PITCHER who would do that? Zambrano gave up just 1 run, so it was kind of laughed off, but I think it shows how the Cubs are afraid of Z.

Now is the time to learn something.

Every year the Cubs have made the playoffs (except the last one) in the last 75 years or so, they've been bad/sub .500 the year before. The Cubs are back to the 1980s style of building a team, getting a nucleus, in 1983 they were developing Sandberg, in 1988 they were developing Grace/Maddux/sort of Dunston.

Let's see what they have. They could be closer than it appears with the proper evaluation.

Also, what's Les Lancaster up to these days?

Dumbass Quade starts Colvin in center, instead of having Fukudome move there. This guy is way over his head.

Hate using the term "rock bottom" (unless it involves the Rock), but this is close.

Rock bottom suggests there might be a bottom. This feels more like free falling with no bottom in sight.

In the next post game press conference, Quade should ask the media, "Do you like pie"?

If your the Cubs, you just take 2 of 3 from the Mets and then have the Astros and Pirates at home and at worst you would think 4-2, and they go 1-5.

DO you start to call it a lost season and start to become sellers and start again next year, maybe with Pujols, or just keep going with what there doing.
