If anybody caught Paul Charchian, I thought he was pretty good today and shed some light on the Lockout is affecting some football things, like some companies are taking a pass on NFL previews.

I did enjoy Matt and Joe squaring off about Ozzie.
At least Dan understands that Cowley isn't about to be swayed about Guillen. If you noticed in the segment, Dan just let those guys go at it.
In another part of the interview, Dan mentioned his column "Dunn needs to produce". Dan asked Joe about it, and Cowley's response was that Rios is also a part of the problem.
I'll give Mac some credit. In this case, he made his point, allowed Cowley a chance at a response -- then moved on.
Whether it's against Cowley -- or Bernsie -- Meat doesn't seem to learn his lesson. Both Joe and Dan are masters of parsing statements, actions or numbers to suit their point of the discussion. Matt feels the need to re-state is case in an attempt to turn the discussion in his favor. All that does is bring about reinforcement from either Joe or Dan. To me, it's a pointless exercise for Spiegs. He doesn't come out sounding more informed or correct, just frustrated.

Is that why the Sun-Times took Cowley off the Sox beat? I mean, he had clearly ceased being an unbiased reporter long ago and taken on duties as the mouthpiece for the Guillen family.

I know media is going through a sea change and I'll admit I'm somewhat of an old school guy, but I think you'd be hard-pressed to find another "mainstream" sports columnist who is as unprofessional as Cowley.

Cubs fans are probably done with the season, and White Sox could be there if it wasn't for the Indians getting swept by the Rangers.

Joe -- Cowley -- will probably never admit that -- just like Joe -- Orr Road Rod -- will never admit to being wrong about any subject.
