Went over to Cub season ticket holder appreciation day for the 4-6 session.

Not sure if they all went this way or due to the rain we got the "Felt like I am being sold a timeshare" treatment when we got there from Ricketts, but he took time to say a few words that I could not here, then introduced all his people starting with Crane Kenney...how uncomfortable to get a smattering of boos to start off the afternoon, then a bunch of people nobody ever heard of.

Due to the rain there was an attempt to bust people into groups of 25 or so and tour the lower bowels of Wrigley. We first go into the Clubhouse from the main concourse, at the same time some other guide is bringing in 25 from the dugout way.

Guide 1 says you must leave via the dugout, guide 2 says you can't leave via the dugout. I chose to ignore guide 2 and we sat in the dugout for about 5 mins during the downpour.

Cleared up pretty quick and all the security kept saying we can't go on the field and basically, the masses of people kinda said, screw it, we are going on the field and bam..250 people on Wrigley playing catch!

I might be generous and post some pics, but even without having my talk with Ricketts, because I think he left during the downpour, it was actually pretty damn cool...especially for the kids we took. They got to pitch from the bullpen mound, dive against the ivy, take BP under the bleachers, see the rats, see the urinal behind the dugout wall, plus they had a ton of kids games in the place.

Overall very cool. Just let the people have run of the house.

Much like the Cubs do for the visiting team.

Don't get me wrong. As nice as this was, I would never expect any person there today to consider this when they are or not renewing season tickets next year.

Winning is what matters and all the corporate Pro Sports Marketing Majors he wants to hire won't change that the only thing that will get him the money he needs is this team winning again.

I took my dad out for the Father's Day promotion in 2007. Hey Dad, Wanna Have a Catch. It sounds lame, but my dad is 73 now, and I'll never forget it. All my anger with management was gone for a couple hours.

I did break out the Kingman jersey for this! Only worn for big games and playoffs. Correct, has not been worn in years!

Kingman in 1979....awesome.

I wanted Dunn for his Kingmanesque stats plus the walks.

He was awesome in '79. I remember that LA game with the 3 bombs.

Still have the authentic used Kingman bat, Kingmans Glove (the real one) and a ball signed by him. All in storage at a secret location
