Especially for his comments trying to backtrack a bit in the post game. Own up to your decision. He hit a pretty good pitch from Shark. I can't fathom why you pitch to him with 2 outs and no on, but such is life

Now we know why Quade has never been a big league manager & has toiled as a journeyman coach.

Now we know that Tom Ricketts is just the rich guys kid.

How would Cuban & Sandberg look compared to Ricketts & Quade?

Cuban was never going to be allowed to buy the team. Sandberg would be managing a team more or less 10 games under 500

How do you allow Rodrigo Lopez, notorius HR allowing mop up man, to start the 10th against Pujols? WTF did you think was going to happen?? Let's end this "Quade is our guy" Hendry fantasy.

Regretfully we will never know. This team and this organization is a total disgrace.

Who would have known Pujols could catch up to Lopez's 88 mph "fast" ball? This team is a complete joke and I am dumping all my tickets as fast as I can and getting whatever I can for them. Rickets doesn't seem to care...so I will withold my $$$ from them as much as possible.

I will probably go to a Cubs game or 2 this year....and my money is going to go to either the Pirates or Reds organization.

I was wathing the Cubs Postgame on Comcast, and somebody e-mailed a question on why Quade was hired over Sandberg and Hollandsworth answer was how the Cubs finished last season under Quade.

I don't know how Sandberg would have done as a manager, if the Ricketts hired him would have been more for the fans and sell more seats, but if the team looked like this under Sandberg, what would the fans be saying today.

"most"? What stat do you have to back that up? Don't tell me about attendance, that's mostly college age guys who don't know a baseball from a pigs testicle. I have been a Cubs fan for a long time. I realize that's more of accident of birth more then anything else. Doesn't make me any smarter then you or anyone else but I like to think I know baseball enough to say I'm real disappointed in Quade but like everyone else on here understand the key ingredient to this mess goes by the name of Hendry. Todays loss was bad even for the Cubs. Thanks to Zambrano for saying what all the fans are also saying. Quade's response missed the mark. He said Marshall & Marmol are not AAA players. What about that line-up? Colvin & Hill are not major league hitters.

Unfortunately your going to take a bath on the tickets. My Daughter went to a Cubs night game last week & she & her friends bought a bunch of tickets for...........$4 each! They were in the upper deck down the right field line. In the middle of the game one of her friends says "hey, there's Tom Ricketts". He was walking around & they all had a group picture taken with him. I wish I was there.

Sandberg would have the same problems

but in the long run he would make a better manager...Im glad its Quade so Sandberg doesnt have to suffer through Hendry's controlling ways

See, that's the thing. As a business Man, Ricketts would have been better off with a guy like Sandberg who the fans would have been more patient with. Somewhere Jerry Reinsdorf is laughing his ass off. So is Sandberg.

I have been a fan of this shit franchise as long as many of you have been alive and I am about at my wit's end.

I was glad when TribCo took over because I was tired of the Chewing Gum Chumps. I thought change would be good.
I was optimistic when Shingles bought the team. I though he would bring in baseball people to run a baseball team. I thought change would be good.

I have found, much like the majority of voters in the last presidential election, watch out what you wish for. Change can be a fucking bitch.

Coming off a second straight sweep and a Big Z rip job, here's what the Great Mike Quade has to say:

Manager Mike Quade, who watched Pujols beat his team in extra innings for the second straight day, said he would let his players "deal with" Zambrano's critique.

"I don't know exactly what that means," Quade said of the "Triple-A" comment. "We had a chance to win a ballgame 2-1, and we didn't get it done. The people that picked him up were not Triple-A caliber, (Sean Marshall) and Marmol."

Marmol has blown saves in Zambrano's last two starts. Quade said he had no problem with Marmol throwing a slider to Theriot with a 2-2 count and the tying run on first.

"He got ahead with his fastball," Quade said. "Right now, I could care less. Those are the things you go back and look at tomorrow.

"Marmol throws a slider. Everybody is always (ticked) when he gets beat with his fastball. I'm just (ticked) when we get beat. 'Z' pitched good. That's all I know."

Wow. This guy is in so far over his head it's not even funny. Absolutely no fight whatsoever. But hey, he knows these guys' nicknames and he knows how to put his hand on their shoulders and how to keep clapping in the face of utter embarassment! Hey Hey!!

He is still working on trading the entire AA roster for Michael Young for the september divisional race.

Bill Hall is out there for the taking. The Flubs are always looking for guys like this. Scouring the waiver wires to bring you the biggest pile of shit possible. If Neifi Perez wants to make a comeback the Flubs will be first in line.

You don't need a stat. Read a message board. Ask around. Listen to sports radio. Listen to the conversations that go on at Wrigley Field. It is obvious.

Hell Jimmy, just read this thread.

That's not saying much, is it? In a year when batting is way down league-wide, Zambrano had an ERA above 4 until just yesterday. In fact, that's his typical pattern--suck when it counts, and shine when the pressure is off.
