Very difficult time. I was constantly outnumbered by guys who thought Master P was "killin it" on a track. Everyone was just so enamored by terrible music. There ws definately some gems during that time, but they weren't always easy to find...

Take this as an olive branch from your sandlot league week 1 opponent, you should check out the show if you can make it down to the abbey pub. Rubberoom is headlining, along with The Opus taking 2nd billing... The Opus made those beats for that album... I was fortunate enough to catch the 2x12" instrumental version of the architechnology LP so I've got all these beats on wax... it's a pity my record player died.

Also on the bill is some dude from the Eurolythimics and another old local rap friend of mine, the venerable Robust... in fact, that motherfucker owes me a beat and is facebook bigtiming me when i ask about it. I mean he hits me up like "i need money... i gotta move... wanna buy some beats?" and i'm there in under an hour hitting him off with like $150 for beats and shirts and records. I NEED MY THIRD BEAT DUDE. I REMEMBER WHEN YOU USED TO SHOW ME YOUR EXPOS HATS FOR APPROVAL! WIGGA PLEASE!

I haven't been to the Abbey since I got kicked out for smoking weed at an autechre show in 08, suffice to say this time I won't be blazing one hitters out of defiance when they tell me I can't go outside to smoke.

Oh and also, the Meta Mo on my friend's floor experience ended with Meta threatening to kill him on sight and a real good friend of his not talking to him for like ~7 years because he sided with meta trying to blow up his own rap career. Oh the good ol days of Milwaukee/North/Damen before they got rid of all the homeless people on the street and yuppified the fuck out of it.

I'm taking it old school today. Let's go back to 1994 with some of the original backpackers, before backpacking became "stylish". Buckshot Shorty, 5ft, and DJ Evil D were known as Black Moon and were about as hip hop as it got. This is the remix from their debut album "Enta Da Stage". The track is called "I Got U Opin."
