Gordon Whitrnemeyer(sp?) saying Brett Jackson is better than 2 or 3 guys on the roster right now. Heard basically the same thing from Gammons, stats say the same thing?

SO WHY THE FUCK IS HE IS IN THE MINORS? and We moved Blake DeWitt to LF? DeWitt is actually doing well in the OF, but he is not going to continue to play OF?

Fukudome should be traded, making even more room.

Colvin should be looking for condos in Japan.

Brad Snyder??? The Indians 2003 1st round pick! I don't know this for a fact but I would not be surprised to check his baseball lineage and find some Hendry past connection.

If the team is going to suck, at least figure out who should be playing when they one day clean house.

They had to make room for the great Darwin Barney.

And the 2 great Rays castoffs they acquired.

Is this the current conventional wisdom among Cub fans? I remember getting blasted for saying Colvin = Murton.

I think you got blasted because Murton is much better than Colvin.

Fuk has a NTC, so tough to say if he can go anywhere. That being said, he's like top 10 in OBP, so Hendry better be trying his ass off.

I was a big fan of Colvin coming up, but he has such obvious holes in his swing and can't seem to fix it. Just might not be an everyday player. Send him to AAA so he can build some confidence.

As for Brett... they must just ultimately feel he isn't ready yet. Is it worth rushing a guy to the majors, when he'd be on an awful team? Tough to say.

Yes. If it was a Lou/Dusty type team, I'd probably say "no" as you might not want him around an old veteran, cynical team. But, I thought the whole Quade thing was to be able to develop a young team. So, the environment of this team should and needs to be one of development/acceptance in looking to the future or why the hell is Quade there at all.

Bring 'em all up.

Would have agreed before, but I've seen no evidence of Quade being able to develop anything. Also haven't been a fan of the way he has been managing arms.

Agreed. Quade has underwhelmed me and my expectations were pretty low. But, this is the job he supposed to be doing so if he can't even do that, let's find out for sure and get rid of him if he can't.

Agreed partly, but I guess the question is, is it worth testing him out on the best/only arm you have in your system? I'm not sure it is.

That's Trey Mcnutt you are thinking of I'm assuming.

To be honest, not the same guy. I got Brett Jackson and Trey McNutt mixed up. I'm an idiot.

To be honest with you, it wouldn't shock me if Quade put Zambrano in center and had Brett Jackson pitch a couple innings of middle relief if BJack asked nicely.

The earlier you bring him up, the faster his free agency period begins. The Cubs are going nowhere and probably won't be going anywhere next year. They will bring him up 2 months into next season.

I was in the "Prove it" camp for Colvin all spring and last year. he actually looks smaller as well, he needs to "get in the weight room" and we will see ya next year maybe, but he can no longer be counted on.

Darwin Barney might be the most solid guy for next year on this whole team, which is fine, but this is the only thing Hendry does...solidify the 2nd base position!

Castro, obviousely has the high ceiling, but as a SS is still out for debate? He needs to get better at the position to keep it.

Have a buddy who is dying for the Cubs to move Starlin to CF. Just doesn't think he has it at SS. I dunno, he's still so young that I feel like he still has plenty of time to develop as a SS. And then down the road, if he doesn't... I'm sure he can play CF. I just don't see the urgency yet.
