This shit cannot continue for much longer. Lopsided losses and bad ,sloppy play. Laughingstock of MLB. Gutless ownership that refuses to see what all the fans see daily. I have been a Cub fan since 1972 and have never been more disgusted. I really do not care anymore. If they are on I listen or watch half ass if I do not have anything better to do. Usually now I do have something more going on because I do not give a shit . Fuck this mess. The Ricketts better fix this toot sweet or it will get really ugly. I do not think Mr. Fanboy has a clue. Welcome to the mid 70s Cub fans. Gonna be a long time before this ship sails again.

There is no ax and there is no one with the balls or sense of baseball knowledge to drop it. Bob would do it, but all he has is a microphone.

Brenly out of the booth would be a nice kick in the ass for this team but as stated no one has the balls to do it.

Why do you have to go back that far to remind them of a bad stretch? Mid 70s? Could have gone 1990-1997 for the most recent long drought.

If Brenly came out of the booth today they'd still lose 100 games. But it would be an improvement. Quade is gonna lose 101.

Quade would lose with the 84 Cubs. Bad manager.

I wish Quade was the main problem.

I would rather Bob run the entire organization based on what I have heard from him and the incompetence I have seen from every other person in the organization.

He wouldn't get much more out of this dead ass team. He would make sure Aram never started another game as a Cub and he would probably use some type of thought process when putting out a lineup. There would be better execution both offensively and defensively but that may net them 5 more wins over the season.

I'd definately like to see Brenly get the job but I agree Ricketts lacks the balls to drop the axe. Maybe after the season but one never knows with this asswipe Bison Burger pussy.

I agree that Brenly would not make more than a 4-5 game difference. But the attitude and game prep and hustle would be better. It is obvious now why the vets wanted Q ball. So they could run the fuckin club. That is what has happened. They do not respect him much less give a flying fuck what he thinks. Ramirez has always thought the club was his playground. Sosa jr. He learned from the best. Alou and Sammy and Farnsworth were the three blind mice. Moises and Kyle drunk every night and Sammy juicing it up till 4 AM.

Here's what you don't understand. Why would Brenly take it? To lead a 100 loss team that fights and grinds this year only to improve to a 90 loss team with hustle and fight next year and then be fired? C'mon. A guy like Brenly knows what it is and wouldn't take it.

There is no way he would take it.

Wonder what Quade is thinking playing Dewitt,Pena & Colvin against Cliff Lee?
It's starting to look like games are being thrown. What kind of chance do you give yourselves with this lineup? I still can't blame Quade for ALL the problems. You take anybodies 3 or 4 starting players plus two starting pitchers away and see how good they do. Not even mentioning lefty killers,Baker & Johnson. Hendry just sits there and gives no help. He can't find a RH to play 1st against a tough LHP like Lee? Quade has received zero help from the GM. How can Ricketts not see what is right in front of his face? He's walking around Wrigley shaking hands instead of kicking ass. This all makes me ill. I'm not kidding either. There seems to be no end in the freefall.

Of course he wouldn't take it. He's pushing 60 and is a World Series winning manager. Hendry goes to him, mid season, with a team 20 games under, while he's got a million dollar booth job, and says "You want this big boy?" Of course the answer is "no". He can get something better if he wants to manage.

Not to mention, the money and years they'd have to give someone like Brenly wouldn't be approved by Ricketts. Paying him and paying Quade for the rest of this year and next year wouldn't be approved (I think he got a two year deal). Don't be stupid people. You live a fanasy world.

Brenly wouldn't want it and even if he did, Ricketts wouldn't want it.

Quade,Brenly or St. Peter will not change the fact that the .SLG % on this team is terrible. Not to mention SP not earning their money. ("Dempsy","Garzy")

Brenly would come out of the booth for a brat and the thrill of kicking this team in the ass. Fantasy is one thing. I do not know what fanasy is BD.

I will admit that I am a White Sox fan and a Cub hater. However, why do Cub fans constantly want their brodcaster to take over the team? For about 15 years, I had to listen to Cub fans beg for Steve Stone to become the GM, now the answer is Bob Brenly to manage the team. If Bob Brenly is such a great manager, how come he has not gotten a job since Arizona? The way the Cubs are currently constructed, it would not matter WHO is managing the club. Quade is a stop gap; he is Bruce Kimm or Terry Bevington. The Cubs need to get better players. The manager is not the problem.

Fans just appreciate the that they are close enough to yet far enough away from the team to make critical comments that are generally correct instead of the sunshine up the ass bs you get from everyone else in the organization.

If Stone was legit he would be a GM and he is not....however...if this team were close to contention I would love for Bob to be the manager. He did win a world series as one once. He clearly speaks his mind and I agree with nearly all of his philosophies on the game of baseball.

In the past, both Phil Caveretta & Lou Boudreau were brought down from the booth to manage.

The Cubs owner is a problem. The VP of operations is a problem. The GM is a problem. The Manager is a problem. The players are a problem. The Cubs are fucked up.

How did that work out? Seriously, if Brenly is Casey Stengel, why have other teams not signed him? He either does not want to manage anymore OR is not a good candidate.

The Magic Brenly thing is getting a little out of hand.

Its easy to say the right things in the booth, when you dont have to deal with the players or consequences.

Did every player on the 2001 Diamondbacks hustle every play? Doubtful.

If Schilling and Johnson said "Were showing up only on the days we pitch and we'll be there 5 mins before gametime"

Brenlys response would have been "See ya thurday at 655!"

No manager is winning with this team. No organization is winning like the Cubs are currently consturcted.

Full Stop.
