I agree that Brenly won't be much more successful than any other manager. Is it that we want Brenley though?
I don't think so.
I think what it is is a symptom of the Cubs fans desperation for actual leadership on the team. Dusty, Lou, Quade... none of them were leaders. The players on the team who should have been leaders/captains never were (Sosa, Alou, Ramirez, Zambrano). This team has been without true leadership for decades now. The halfassed play and the general malasie on this team is proof.
Brenly has been calling them a deadass team since 2008 right? Well they have been a deadass team. How can a team be that disinclined for so long.
Shitty leadership. It starts up top.
The manager is just the second to the last rung, and he is a direct result of his manager's lack of leadership.
