I know the college football talk will be in another month or two, but I was wondering is Penn State supposed to have a top team this year.

I am going by things on the wagering part, because where I go they are the 2nd team to pick to win the Big 10, behind Nebraska.

I was listening to a gambling show in Vegas and on Friday, a sportsbook was thowing out their college Football lines and if I heard right, Penn State would be an 8 point favorite over Alabama when Bama comes to Penn State.

I know Penn State has a returning quarterback in Mcgloin, and the running back Silas Redd could be special, along with some returning receivers, but are they supposed to have a star defense too.

I look at their schedule and they should be 4-1 or 5-0 and then it get tough with home against Iowa, at Northwestern, home with Nebraska and close out at Ohio State and Wisconsin.

I would say Penn State has a good season, but not the 2nd best team in the Big 10 and probably not a 8 point favorite over Bama, but things will probably change once we get closer, still about 3 months away.

I have heard similar talk, but I don't drink the blue and white koolaid as much as my brethren. Could they be the second best team in the Big 10? Yes, but that says more about how bad the big 10 will be and less about how good Penn State is. I mean you could say 5 or 6 teams are the second best in the big ten at this point.

Penn State is a 8 or 9 point underdog, not favorite, against Alabama. I didn't like Penn State going into last year and I still don't this year, regardless of who is playing quarterback.

Michigan at 15-1 looks really good.

I didn't think it sounded right that Penn State would be a big favorite over Bama, but then when the guy was talking about it, it made it sounded like Penn State was the favorite.

Irish Boy, I am with you on Penn State, Mcgloin is serviceable, Bolden didn't look too good last year.
