"I have mad respect for Peter Gammons, a Hall of Famer. He's a guy who knows exactly what he's talking about," Byrd told "The Mully & Hanley Show" on WSCR-AM 670. "At the same time, this is Year No. 2 for the Ricketts. They have a lot of work to do to get this park better. They've made changes and they've made renovations to the field, as far as the bathroom last year. They did a great job of changing the clubhouse, making it a little bit bigger. Better weight room, better kitchen and they redid the training room. Things that help us get on the field, things to make us stronger. And we're able to be fed better.

They're still worse than anything at any other park/staduim though. And really, when concrete catching nets are required to keep people from getting killed by parts of the park falling on their heads, how important are the bathrooms?

Ok, first, the miracle training room and bigger weight room didn't really help get you on the field. There are DL injuries to 9 of the season opening 25. And you need a better kitchen to be fed better? And most of all, this years team is the worst in several years, possibly the worst since 1980 when the Cubs lost 98. So better food, better training rooms, better weight room and your team is injured and bad.

Who ya crappin?

Theres a big piece of land in Elk Grove across from Lou Malnottis on Higgins. It was once rumored the Bears would move there. It would be great for the Cubs. enough of this Wrigley BS. Over 100 years of failure in one park is enough.

spoken like a true Schaumburgian

they are so used to having everything close to them, now they want the Cubs in their backyard

funny how anytime anyone mentions the a new park, it's always in the Scahumburg/Hoffman Estates area...the area responsible for fucking up the entire Chicagoland area

the most spoiled, self-righteous people...get ur own baseball team if u want one so bad...better yet, goto Cougars games

The upcoming IMU/Whistler feud should be interesting.

As someone who works in Schaumburg...let the Coob stay in the city...or even better, move somewhere else. Traffic already blows around here.

Would it be so hard to get 2 retired aircraft carriers and weld them together and let them play on the lake?
