One last point before I crash, it sounds like Royce is trying to match eminem on lighters but just cant, talking about lyrically, not artistically, although im not that sure of it. Does this sound stupid? I honestly don't know. And I think I somewhat understand sampling/bringing in a totally different artist(dido) to re-emphasize a message, but bruno mars and that shit they contribute is just absurdly inferior when contrasted against what eminem and royce seem to be speaking to there. IMO to make that song badass as hell they either need to cut all the bruno mars out, or figure out a way to say that stupid chorus in 10-12 seconds instead of over half a minute

My buddy who burned me the cd told me this is done to create broader appeal. Basically, they know the rap is the shit and fans will love it, but people who are more into the melodic r&b sound want pop-sounding stuff added in.

But wasn't one of the points of this cd about getting away from the industry bullshit and doing what you do? I don't get it I don't think

I have listened to several of the songs so far and find it hard to believe that anyone could honestly think Royce is on the same level as Eminem. But I am pretty biased in my view as Eminem is one of my favorites.
