I wonder how Quade gives Koy a pet name, maybe he calls him "Hilly". Once again after the game,Quade was trying to paint a positive picture. It looks like I was wrong about this guy. He sounds like a guy just happy to be hanging with the big boys. He is afraid of all veteran players. No "whip cracking" in his clubhouse. I can't remember being this frustrated with just about every guy asociated with the Cubs. Maybe back in the "mcFail" years, Ed Lynch as GM.

For the 16,478 time on this board:Ricketts needs to clean house from top to bottom.

I love it.

With every stupid decision/move he makes, Quade increases the pressure on the dip-shit Hendry and Lil' Tommy McRicketts. He's totally outmatched.

He's kind of like the MLB manager version of Chris Farley: "remember how great Zamby threw the ball tonight?....that was cool....remember when Starly got that double.....that was awesome"

He does call him Hilly

An emailer to Mully and Hanley said that

"I thought the idea of a nickname was to shorten the name, not add a letter to it."

You guys need a coach who understands the Cubs/Sox rivalry. Sandberg would have been better at that.

Koyie career vs. lefties: .238/.287/.318

In his post game, I guess he actually said that he just wanted a hitter who can make solid contact. That's seriously a fire-able comment.

I'm done with Quade.

Crane who is a righty pitched to Hill then Ozzie brought in Thornton to face Fukudome. I questioned the move at the time because Hill is so bad hitting right handed but if he brought in Thornton to face Hill they would have pinch hit Soto. That was a good move by Ozzie.

Hell I'd take Jack McKeon over Quade at this point. At least he is a major league manager even if he is 80 years old. This guy is just flat out embarrassing.

Well at least he.... Ummm maybe if he would have... There is still time to...

Sorry, I have run out of excuses. The team sucks and Quade is the disaster that many predicted. No problem showing him the door mid season, it has been a nightmare.

The All Star break would be a logical time to can his ass but I'd be shocked if Hendry/McRicketts pull the trigger as they'd have to admit their mistake. Welcome to Year II.

Yeah I was at the game and couldn't even muster much anger after.....No concievable reason to leave Hill in there. And obviously it is partly Hendry's fault because Koyie Hill isn't qualified to be anywhere near a major league roster but whatever. I am officially rooting for the wheels to completely fall off of the wagon to see how miserable things can get for Ricketts' broke ass at this point.

Really, you weren't hoping for a 'Major League' type season where the misfits all came together and won a world series? That seems pretty stupid to hope that your team does poorly.

Well he is much smarter than us for never having hope since day 1 and he is going to tell us all about it again and again. The benefit of the doubt is for wimpy pussies.

Trade off for him pitching the awful likes of Davis and Lopez in a sure DH sweep for the Giants?

I hope the network carries the 2+ minute standing ovation he will get when he is announced. :!: :!:

A major league managers quote on a non-hustling veteran:

As for Rios, “(he) don’t run the bases,” Guillen said. “That’s why I got him out of the game. It’s not the (first time) it’s happened.”

Rios was 0-for-3 and dropped a fly for an error in the fifth.

"They don’t run the bases, they don’t want to play or tired or hurt, that reputation comes with me and I have a great reputation in this (bleeping) game to do (the right) way," Guillen said. "They don’t run the bases, they’re out of the game. I don’t give a (bleep) if it’s (Paul) Konerko or Adam Dunn or anyone.

"If you don’t play the game right, you’re out of the game.”

So I guess he won't get fired over the All Star weekend.

Talk about a head scratcher...

Byrd is about ready. He will be in AAA after this series....unless they send Montanez though Montanez is old enough that he is out of options thus making his demotion unlikely.

They should trade Byrd. He has value.

He would be a great pickup for a team needing someone in the OF provided he hits upon his imminent return. Not sure how much you can get back for him. I would send him to Detroit for local prospect Casey Crosby who is in AA dealing for Detroit and has already gotten his Tommy John year out of the way. Throw in 1 more A level prospect and I am all in.

After looking at Detroit's roster this actually works. They absolutely need another player in the OF.

He's got the fire and the passion. Dove twice last night to try and save the game. Led off the 9th with a hit, and scored the winning run. This guy should be starting everyday. He's a white/grindy Juan Pierre.
