Today's selection is my favorite song from Mos Def and Talib Kweli's groundbreaking 1998 clasic album, "Black Star". The track entitled "Respiration", also includes a verse from Common. Strictly hip hop, son.

*Note, Kweli's verse is clipped on the video. It's slightly longer on the album version but I couldn't find it on Youtube.

Today's track is from the first Latino hip hop act to ever go platinum: Cypress Hill. The track is off their 1996 EP, "Unreleased & Revamped" and is entitled "Whatta Ya Know". Check out the way Muggs uses the well-known Isaac Hayes "Walk On By" sample and absolutely freaks that shit. Smooth track.
