They have 20 games left and need to win 15 to do so. It's an easy schedule so I say yes. And this will be good enough to get the two seed.

I think they'll end up at 48 or 49. Still some tough matchups in there (NJ twice...they always play the Bulls tough).

47 wins and a 5 seed unless the LeBron keeps it on cruise control.

I don't think the schedule is as easy as you think, Beardown. As Scott Said, the Bulls have a really tough time with New Jersey--mainly because Kidd always takes over in the 4th quarter and the Bulls have no one who can guard him when he's playing his hardest. There are also tough matchups against Detroit (home and away), Cleveland, LA, Denver, at Washington and at Indiana. Even the away games against Orlando and Atlanta could be problematic.

I see the Bulls finishing with 47 wins or so. 50 seems high.

Maybe. Oh well now they have to go 15-4. LOL.

In the end 50 wins doesn't matter. It's just a nice little thing to say you did. But they gotta get the 2 seed whatever total wins it takes to do that.

Here is where the Bulls have to make up some ground towords the 2 seed. Their next 6 games are all vs. teams under .500.

Boston - 18-43

Boston - 18-43

Philadelphia - 24-38

L.A. Clippers - 29-31

Denver - 29-31

Indiana - 29-31

Anything less then a 5-1 reccord and I will be disapointed.

How does the playoff system work this season after last year's problem with the Mavericks/Spurs ?

I believe it's the same - division winners get the first four seeds. I haven't heard about a format change this year.

The division winners are guaranteed to be in the first 4 seeds. If a second team has a better record than any of the division winners, they go into that seed.

Right now, the seeds would be:

1. Detroit (38-22)
2. Cleveland (36-25) **Currently second best record in the East**
3. Washington (34-26)
4. Toronto (33-29)
5. Bulls (36-28) ** Note they would be tied with Washington if you went 1-8
6. Miami (32-29)
7. Indiana (29-31)
8. Orlando (29-34)

Yeah. But somebody has to make the Finals in the East. Then maybe once we get there a couple players from our West opponent will get hurt. Otherwise it's good night quick.

Pretty much, yeah. I guess Detroit is the favorite, and if Miami gets D-Wade back anywhere close to his normal level, they're right there; after that, I like the Bulls chances as much as anyone. Each one of those teams is like the Bulls in that you don't know what you're getting from one day to the next.

My vote is for 48-34.

Well, in the Bulls Predictions thread I picked da Boo to finish 51 and 31. It doesn't look likely but I have to stand by my (misguided) prediction.

The Bulls may be the 5 seed, but if they have a better record than the 4 seed, they will have homecourt advantage in the first round.

If they can’t catch Cleveland, the #5 seed isn’t a bad place to be. They’d probably play Toronto. Excluding the piss poor effort they gave last time, the Bulls have historically matched up very well with the Raptors.

How's that "easy schedule" working out for you, Beardown?

It was easy and they didn't take advantage. Starting with Boston I said they had to go 5-1 with their shedule. Well now the best they can do is 4-2. Not good.

Bulls need to go 10-2 to get 50. Still in line for the 2 seed.

I think they'll win 48 then. Hope Noce is back and ready to play by playoff time.

He is really missed, much more than I thought he would be.
They are a different team without him on the floor. I know some say he is just a guy, but now I think he is much more than that. It is somewhat of a cliche, but you can't measure intangibles. Noce is nothing, if not full of intangibles.

That being said we are 11-4 since the all star break with out Noch. We'll need Noch for the playoffs. No doubt.

But I think everybody gets caught up pounding their fists about this team when they really aren't playing as shitty as some have made it sound.

Agreed. Noce does all the little things that make a difference. When they can't get a board, he grabs one; when they need a 3, he buries one. When they need a defensive stop, there he is taking a charge. On top of that, he is so fiery that it's contagious to the whole team. Look no further than his performances in the playoffs the last couple years.

Yeah, if you listen to Rosenbloom or Mac, you'd think they were on a 10 game losing streak. But they're right in that they should be beating the Mephises down the stretch.
