I can't remember any other co-host not being named in the show, except maybe The Rick Telander Show and that show went well.

Its hard to be an equal part of the show when you take 1/3 of the year off.

Can you blame the station though? I'm pretty sure that when the initial negotiations were going on that Spiegel made his Tributosaurus dreams clear. They had to have known that he was going to miss a lot of work because of it.

I think that it's a funny bit that we do here but I really don't think that Spiegel misses any more work than anybody else.

He just takes it a day at a time so it seems like more.

Somebody has to get a count going. Since say...week 1 of the NFL season he has to have missed 40-45 days. I can see a seasoned vet getting a month off....but not Meat. Maybe Loho gave him all of his vacation because he seems to have worked about every single day for the last few years.

There used to be a count, but then people discovered that they liked it better when he wasn't there.

It became a bit on The Danny Mac Show and B&B too.

I've said this before, but it's incredibly important for a radio show to have consistency. Radio is a strange thing because most of the time you are listening at the same time every day and it becomes part of your routine. This happened with MJH. I hadn't listened to sports radio in years but it became a routine when I was driving home from work. Now, it was a little bit different for them as they had a 3 person booth and could sub one of them out and continue that consistency. The problem with Spiegel's "I'm going to miss a few days every so often so I can sing" is that it killed any consistency on the show. I think that explains why it's "The Danny Mac Show". I think that's why people like Jason Goff being the permanent fill in. I think most people listen to the radio as a routine. The random cast of characters every week, especially since McNeil obviously takes vacation time too on a more normal schedule, is tough to establish a "brand".

Spiegel is clearly better than Harry. We all know that. However, the formula isn't currently working in my opinion. I've found it difficult to become a consistent listener. I don't know why. I don't think it's Mac as I still enjoy his work. I still listen but I've found myself listening to Jim Rome a lot lately.

In my opinion, at a minimum, they should make Goff a permanent member of the show if he wants it, and make it a 3 man booth and let Spiegel concentrate on his other full time job when he wants to and let the listener know that if you turn into the score on middays that you'll be hearing from at least 2 out of 3 actual members of the show virtually every non-holiday. Then again, with how much I have enjoyed Goff and Mac I'd be fine with that pairing too and let Spiegel continue his fine work with the baseball shows he does.

I repeat my previous edict:

ALL of the theme songs suck. This goes for ALL of the shows on the station, but for some reason, I find myself really annoyed by things such as "Mr Cowley", "F-L-O-R-I-O", and today's 3 different Bill Melton songs.

Meat's songs are equally as bad as the intro to Murph's old show.....they may even be worse.

Nothing is as bad as Murph's intro.

What comes after Murph's intro is far worse

My favorite creation is Matera's intro to

DAN

Weak. Chuck Norris joke ripoffs.

Looks like the parody songs were the last straw

Show has been seemingly cancelled.

At the end of the day, it was the introduction of Bill Melton's theme song that did the show in. Spiegel went 80's on Mac, and Mac killed him.
