In 2002, Lou was touted as a hot Cub prospect, a first round pick I think, even maybe a top ten.

Picked # 3 in the 1st round in 2000 by the Ed Lynch regime. I think Hendry was farm director at that time as well.

What a horseshit call. That's just BS. Lousy umps. I'm watching the rest of this season under protest. I have hated McClelland sine the Brett pine tar homerun.

I think the runner was out. Looked like Geo blocked the plate. He dropped the ball after the tag sequence had ended.

Gotta give it to that John Grabow. Pitching in both ends of a day/night doubleheader.

No wonder why Hendry paid him 8M for 2 years!

1.1 combined innings amd only 3 earned runs.

That a boy!!

The Beard took care of shit right there.

Que the goofy ass post game Quade interview. Golly shucks gee thats crazy how well the Giants were swinging the bats today. They just found the right day to get hot and we ran into them. That Brian Wilson sure is something. Peny, Ramy, Sori and the boys are all waiting for me in the cold tub with cold jeremiah weed tall boys. Gotta run.

Quads will throw a few "damns" and "hell's" in there as well to try and come off as being upset or whatever it is he thinks he is projecting. All I know...it's really, really BAD!

I don't get any of the post game coverage here in Ohio so if any of you all see it let me know if what crazy shit he says tonight.

It was so boring Comcast cut off the coverage. He mumbled about the play at the plate, etc. "Golly gee" ...

It was bad.

quotes from the paper:
(left in the comment section....some good stuff)

We have been real inconsistent in those (last two spots in the rotation),'' Cubs manager Mike Quade said. "I believe (Randy) Wells will get better. Dougie has been good in spots but wasn't good today. You just keep trying to (help) those guys, get the best out of people.''

If there was one inning that summed up the day, it was the fifth in Game 2.

With the Cubs leading 2-1, center-fielder Reed Johnson threw home to try to cut down Andres Torres after catching a fly from Pedro Sandoval. The throw was on the money and Geovany Soto did a good job of blocking the plate, seeming to tag Torres as he knocked him to the side. McClelland initially called Torres out but then saw the ball on the ground and reversed his call.

Soto was stunned. Replays appeared to show him control the ball before it came out of his glove. Quade charged out of the dugout and was able to get McClelland to consult his crew, but he did not reverse the call that allowed the Giants to tie the score 2-2. They took a 3-2 lead later in the inning when Nate Schierholtz greeted reliever John Grabow with a single to center, and then blew the game open.

Grabow gave up hits to the first three guys he faced, with Brandon Crawford's two-run double and Eli Whiteside's bloop single following Schierholtz's single. The Giants wound up with five runs in the inning — none of which would have scored if the Cubs had gotten the call from McClelland.

Quade said from his vantage point the play was "caught, tagged and out,'' but pointed out that it was still just a 2-2 tie after the call. Soto too went out of his way to be kind to McClelland, saying he didn't have an angle to see the ball.

"Tough break there,'' he said.

Tough day, and night, at the office.

Well did either game surprise anyone you have pitchers that should be in A or AA but not the majors and yes they scored some runs 5 per game only problem SF kept scoring what is the owner waiting for ? He needs to make changes now trade who ever another team will take get rid of these 2 a record of 1 - 7 or did the trade man give away who ever you could bring up bench sone of these so called vets start with the outfield 3rd-1st etc. them the management see if Ryno would come back as GM he been a winner with any team he managed. Let him find a manager you would be able to re-build this year and maybe give the fans hope, I wrote before since you paid for your tickets go to the game but buy nothing that will bring Tommy Boys attention very fast. Sorry fans but watching this so called team you can almost guess what they will do or how they will blow a game.

The longer that Ricketts allows this charade for a major league team to continue, the more embarrassing it becomes. How he can sit back and pretend everything is just fine, when there is only one team in all of MLB that's worse is beyond me.

The Cubs are nothing but a hobby for this guy and it shows every day. No one is going to take this club seriously until Kenney, Hendry and Quade are shown the door. Other teams in this position clean house, Ricketts' answer is to hold another Jimmy Buffet concert.

THERE AREN'T 2 KID PITCHERS IN THE WHOLE ORG. WHO CAN PITCH AT LEAST AS BAD AS DAVIS AND LOPEZ? iF THAT IS TRUE, THIS TEAM HAS NO FUTURE. LET COLEMAN HAVE ONE OF THE SPOTS. GORZELANNY WAS BETTER THAN BOTH OF THEM PUT TOGETHER. CHEAP A** CUBS

THIS TEAM IS UNWATCHABLE. YUCK. BOYCOTT. NOW.

Dunston should have been much better then he was. A ML career wasted. He was an erratic SS who could have been great. A pretty good hitter who chased a lot of bad pitches. He could have been a much better hitter. Much was expected of the rocket armed SS when he came up. Kind of like the "Kerry Wood" of ML hitters.

Wasn't a superstar but played hard for 17 years in the big show and always respected the game. Given the percentage of 1st rounders who never even make the big leagues, he did OK.

Soriano swings at ball 4, Mantle down looking, and Demp just sucks. Got to love Len repeating the same comment Bob made about 2 minutes before. Len must not have been listening.

Another Soriano strikeout with a man on 2nd and no outs. Dewitts has a Theriot baserunning blunder, running into the 2nd out.

The Quade school of base running is 2nd to none.

Len and Bob keep saying, "you hate to see him be on the hook for the loss." I say that's bullshit - it's his game to finish, let him finish. HE'S ONLY THROWN 80 FUCKING PITCHES!

The 80 pitches say he should stay in. It was 1 hit. Its not like he is 120 pitches in and dead out there.
