Rios dogged it and Lillibridge dogged it during the game, but really that should not have mattered. The Sox should have gotten AT LEAST 4 or 5 runs off the Rockies starter Hammel (and in all honesty, it probably should have been more like 6 or 7 runs). That guy was all over the place and in trouble every other inning. 2 runs off of him is not acceptable, especially when one of those runs is knocked in by Juan Pierre and the other is a solo HR. Not once could they execute with men in scoring position last night. That was an absolutely pathetic display from the offense last night, in game where your pitching gave up a mere 3 goddam runs over 13 innings.

You know, Frank, before the season I thought this could be a team that scored almost 1000 runs. I thought 900 was a lock. Now I feel pretty foolish for thinking that. Scoring is down in the game as a whole, but I'm done believing the Sox should score 5 or 6 off anyone. They're just not a good offensive team. At least not right now.

80 games played, 4 below .500, 5 games out, and the Cubs have outscored them 330 to 326.

But like you said last nite Orr, is it that hard to hit a fucking flyball?

Instead of the 2 DPs if they got 2 flyballs, thats 4 runs off Hammel, and the Sox end up winning 4-2 or maybe 4-3. I know we all likely over estimated how good the offense for the Sox would be this year (especially after they hit really well over the first 2 weeks of the season), but all the Sox needed last night was an average depth flyball to LF or RF, or just a routine base hit. And they couldn't even do that.

Last night's 3-2 loss to the Rockies in 13 innings certainly made Mt. Guillen erupt, and 670thescore.com has the manager's latest tirade. The benching of CF Alex Rios reminds me to a certain degree of what Ozzie's mentor, longtime Braves' manager Bobby Cox did many years to another CF in Andruw Jones during a game in Miami against the Marlins. I'll be very interested to see if Rios and/or Brent Lillibridge will be in tonight's lineup vs. Colorado's Ubaldo Jimenez, especially in the wake of what happened last night.

Well SHARK, one of them has to be. Otherwise you have to play Pierre in CF and Dunn in right or left.

Frank, I'm not when the lineup will be known, but the Trib's Mark Gonzales told the SCORE's Mac & Spiegs last hour that he doesn't think Rios will be in it. He thinks that the White Sox need to take a stand that dogging it won't be tolerated.

Why is it always said that Cox is Guillen's mentor? He played there for like a season. I highly doubt that Cox was giving coaching tips to Ozzie when he was on the Marlins since they are in the same division and then he went right into the Sox gig. When did he get mentored?

Because Guillen looked up to Cox when he was in Atlanta...

That's because Ozzie is short.

Honestly?

I'm not surprised by anything this team does at this point.

Apparently if you don't play the game the right way, you don't play for just a few innings

You've got to be bleeping me! I was under the impression that Brent Lillibridge, not Alex Rios, would play in center field tonight in Denver...

Did you watch the game last night? Sure, Rios dogged it but Lillibirdge dogging it cost the winning run.

Frank, I only saw a fraction of the ballgame and didn't see the play that landed Rios on the bench. I did see the play where Lillibridge appeared to play shallow on the RBI single Ty Wigginton hit to win the game for the Rockies... I didn't think anything of either move at the time.

You should check the Sox website, SHARK; http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/mlb/gam ... p&c_id=cws

You can clearly see Frodo jogging (at best) on the play, and Ohman and AJ are visibly upset with him.

Just saw the play from last night. Lilli was defiantly not hustling. What a fucking joke. The game was on WCIU so I only had a gamecast and that looks like its a good thing. This fucking team is falling apart, now is when they were supposed to be making up ground and they aren't doing it. I really hope Viciedo is brought up July 3rd or 4th, even if they don't get rid of Pierre, its gonna be somebody.

Also the team should consider moving Lillibridge, sell high.

Wow. Taking advantage of walks and hit batsmen. What a novel concept.

2-0 Sox.

Another reason why he shouldn't be on this team. Wasn't even that good a throw, and he was out by a good margin.
