LOS ANGELES (AP) — Sherwood Schwartz, writer-creator of two of the best-remembered TV series of the 1960s and 1970s, "Gilligan's Island" and "The Brady Bunch," has died at age 94.

Great niece Robin Randall said Schwartz died at 4 a.m. Tuesday at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where he was being treated for an intestinal infection and underwent several surgeries. His wife, Mildred, and children had been at his side.

He knew what the common man wanted,something to take his mind off the real world.

I think you mean MeTOO, Zippy. Since MeTV went national back in December, the ONLY sighting of Gilligan, a.k.a. the late Bob Denver, has come in the form of "Dobie Gillis", long before Gilligan and those castaways went on what was supposed to be a "three-hour tour" back in 1964.

That being said, I wouldn't be shocked if MeTV themselves aired a "Tribute to Sherwood Schwartz" sometime real soon. After all, they play 2 hours of "The Brady Bunch" every Sunday from 10a-Noon.

I don't know, SHARK. Joe Orr Road Rod used to be in a skate punk band with a guy named Diptheria Sherwood, but he passed away from an undiagnosed potassium deficiency some time ago.
