Just wanted to guage interest in another CSFMB outing to a Northwestern game again this year. I'd be happy to host the tailgate and coordinate ticket purchases if you are interested. Obviously there is great demand for games like the night game against Michigan. But I could likely get a good deal on a block of tickets for a non-conference game like Eastern Illinois (9/10/2011). Last year was alot of fun. Got to meet a bunch of you and take in a decent game. Hopefully you guys enjoyed the pulled pork and beer.

FWIW, the home schedule kinda sucks this year. 3 home games when the weather turns shitty.

I can try to get a block for Penn State or Michigan, but they would be full-priced tickets. It would be a blast, but would likely cost ya like $50 each. My buddy in the marketing department wouldn't be able to help out there.

So, we have 5-7 (me+1, frank+1, WZ, Spanks+1?) takers for the EIU game...
Boyd and Bob will go wherever anyway, so that's like 9 of us.

We don't need to be super precise on this. For the EIU game, I'm pretty sure that I can score 20 tickets VERY easily. We can make this as big or small as we want it.

Despite being a former season ticket holder, I still wouldn't know who to root for.

that was such a weird weather day. you'd think with all that sunlight it'd be warmer but it was kinda chilly, especially later in the afternoon.

the food was great, mud, and the beer was plentiful.

no bacardi though.

We can fix that.

Looks like I can still get tickets for the night games with Michigan and Penn State. The only downside is that I can't subsidize tickets. I got Hawg Ass 2 for Penn State and they ended up at $50 a pop. Those games would obviously be much more fun to go to than EIU, but obviously more out of the wallet. I also can't confirm where the seats will be, but I'm guessing that they would be pretty decent given that they would get first dibs since I'd be purchasing them as a season ticketholder before the rest of the tickets go on sale to the general public.

Time for a JORR story. In this photo you're in the Dyche Stadium lot just east of Mustard's. In the fall of 1980 I was 16 years old. I had just bought my first car- a 1976 Toyota Celica with a five-speed transmission. I had a fourteen year old girlfriend and I decided I was going to teach her how to drive that stick shift car. So I took her to the very lot where you're dishing out that delicious-looking pulled pork.

We got out there, probably around 8:00 on a Friday night and I had her driving around and I taught her how to work the clutch. So she was driving and we were headed south in that lot toward Central and I said, "Hey, you should slow down!" And she replied, "I can't." Suddenly I was in a panic. This shit was happening fast. We crossed the sidewalk and then crossed Central. Thank God there was no traffic. We rolled up on the lawn of that building in the background of your picture and gently ran into one of the trees in front of the eastern half of it. No damage to my car, but the tree got bent sideways. If you look today, thirty years later, you can see that tree growing sideways because of the way we hit it.

Great story, JORR. I have a feeling I will have a similar story once my 3 daughters get to driving age. The funny thing is, I highly doubt that parking lot has been repaved since that accident took place. Seriously, it looks like the surface of the moon. They need to fix it up. It's particularly bad when it rains.

I'd be down for the EIU game, since their will br no NFL to watch the next day.

Also in for a +1 or 2. Don't know the cast of characters that would come with me.
