Faggiest station ever programmed in this town. Good riddance.

It had been common knowledge that Howard Stern was leaving terrestrial, traditional radio in 2005 to sign on with Sirius/XM Satellite Radio, and 105.9 FM bosses were caught very flat-footed once Stern signed off in January, 2006. When CBS bosses decided on Shane "Rover" French, a Cleveland-based no-name in hopes of keeping Stern fans in Chicago, Detroit, St. Louis and a handful of Midwest markets, ratings absolutely rolled over and died. Seriously.

As for "Fresh", I didn't think it was that smart of an idea to begin with. I'm old enough to remember when the former 'CKG played "all classic rock with less talk" in the late '80s.

They could have quickly filled the Q101 void, but they opt forprofits over programming. Man alive radio sucks.

not sure...shark can probably answer that... but i do know the line up they had was garbage...dahl and matthews were handed a massive audience from howard stern..and could not keep it..dahl and matthews and boring buzz was a recipe for disaster...dahl was like hawk harrelson when the sox were down 9-0 in the 4th inning..silence for long periods of time..so much so i thought my radio was not working or lost a signal.

I always thought Buzz Killman "worked" at sounding like a burnt out hippie. I never liked him. All Dahl has done after he became infamous after Disco Demolition is three things:

1) Bitch about how he is under appreciated
2) Talk about his boring ass wife & sons.
3) Talk about his newest gadget.

97.9 was FM talk before CKG, right? I know CKG had that stretch where they tried to revive the Loop roster around 1999.

I wish they could bring back WCKG because besides 670 the Score...I really have no 18-34 men talk radio to listen to (I can't afford Sirius XM)
