I liked it all, Sini, and find the detours part of the entertainment. It's not as if the main subject is SO damned interesting that it can't be ignored for a paragraph (or three).

As far as the main subject matter, I agree with the premise that The Goff is a host of many incorporated backgrounds, and does a better job of the LoHo persona while LoHo himself borders on self-parody.

The problem is that The Goff still isn't very smooth on the microphone, and often has bad/lazy sports opinions, and too often that combination results in a stream of partially-mangled cliches. Still a 'prospect' only, IMO.

Sinicalypse should set his tangents off with footnotes like David Foster Wallace, and, sickeningly, every writer at Bill Simmons's Grantland in a tribute to David Foster Wallace.

I'm wrong on many mults, but I'm spot on here.

This is the last time I'm saying this, for real.

I haven't made any new fucking mults this year. I've been out all day getting ready for my son's birthday party tomorrow and I don't have time for this shit. Leave me out of it.

Peace.

Edit: And chill with that "slump" shit. It's played out.

So the other day when you were still a funny poster, you still joked that I was Stella. I didn't have this kind of response.

Dude, I'm sorry life's throwing you a lemon or whatever, but You Gotsta Chill for real....

True, but Kid isn't back at 100% full strength in his multing abilities yet. MiniSini is fine, though.

No. He's not. Muslims, Puerto Ricans, Viet Nam Vets and liberal white women hate him. I've done extensive researh on this. I guess I'm one of the few white males that doesn't think he's a good talk show host. I'll give you that. Crackers like him for some reason.

After reading all of that I have realized that it is in fact Goff's potential greatness and ever increasing popularity over all demographics that probably resulted in can'tshowuptoworkpants getting a new contract. Why would Mac want to have a co host whose popularity may in fact supersede his own? No one tunes in to hear Meat, but people tuned in when they knew Goff was going to be on. Look at the love he got here during that time when people thought he may get the gig. This was a small sample size...but it probably translates to the entire audience. Hopefully he gets a legit show somewhere and sometime soon and kicks all their asses.

No. I hear Spiegs on "Hit and Run". You might not like him, but he's actually a skilled broadcaster. He just is. You can tell. Drink and Goff aren't. I know they bitch and cry about air time, but they should both work on their broadcasting skills. I think they're both lucky as hell that they get as much air time as they do. They both think they can get by with bad jokes, mindless rants, ignorant comments and saying "fuck you" to callers. That's all they are. Nothing else. With this being the case, their sense of entitlement has always amazned me. If I know their lack of skill and talent, they must realize it. Unless they are delusional.

I guarantee you that if you tune in each week you won't hear him because he is not there half the time. I don't want to hear him being judged based solely on hit and run. He is good on there when he shows up. Try listening to the 3 or 4 days he shows up for his real show. He isn't very good there. No one tunes in to that show to hear him.

I agree that Spiegel is a skilled broadcaster. I don't know why everyone's so against the guy. Sure, he has some really annoying flaws, but name a Score personality of consequence who doesn't. In the grand scheme of things, I think he's pretty good at his job. I do like that the board's relationship with Spiegel is more or less the opening joke from Annie Hall, though.

You're selling Goff short, though, Beardown. If you're going to criticize him for anything, it should be that he's not yet 100% comfortable driving a show and can tend to retreat to off-peak-hour tropes like "hey if you wanna talk about something, anything, hey, give us a call, the lines are open," which sounds normal on a Saturday night but kind of panicky in drive time. Haven't heard that lately, to his credit, but then I haven't heard him drive a show in lieu of Spiegel-via-Mac or Bernstein lately.

If you take 2 weeks. Give Meat the 1st week of his own drive time show with a non-dan score personality as cohost and then give Goff week 2 with the same rules I guarantee you Goff beats the shit out of him.

I'm not clear why the original post here is given ANY credit. Seriously. How that doesn't come off as completely creepy, meandering, pointless and mind-numbing to everyone is beyond me.

You take a guy, I mean look at this guy right here, and blow him up into some sort of "next big thing" narrative? That's right, NARRATIVE. "Nuanced Narrative" should definitely be the name of a sports media members' tribute band.

In any case, let's not go on a tangent as we already had 563 in the first post.

Jason Goff is a guy. He's a guy who chose, as many do, to start behind the scenes to eventually get in front of the mic. He's attempting to move from pseudo third chair guy to a main player - good for him. So what? I get that this WOULD be the place to post such drivel, but seriously? Everyone is going to have their opinion of a guy on the radio, but to break it down in such a dramatic (and bizarre) way is just strange to me. But I guess that sort of dedication if what fuels the ego of wannabes like Goff, so there's that much going for it!

It's not though. I don't have any major complaints outside of this board. I just don't want to be "that guy" on here anymore.

I feel you Q. I'm just gonna make the noise in a different way. In a lot of ways, I ain't as strong as you. You've been the main villain here for over a year now and there's no way I would've been able to stay posting here if I put up with as much shit as you do. I just don't have the stomach for being the butt of jokes anymore. I'm man enough to admit that I can't deal with that. What people are seeing is me just being me. Not trying to be the comedian or the funnyman, just me. No mults, no nothing. I'm like Teen Wolf WITHOUT the wolf. I'm gonna win in the end.

And KS, yesterday was awesome but exhausting. His birthday isn't actually until the 29th, but we had his party early. Good day all around. Jalen's parents fucking ROCK....if I may say so myself.

Teen Wolf references depress me, but only because that movie reminds me that a sick and twitchy dog can dunk and I can't.

I also think that the attacks and angry tone of Bernsetin and crew is a reflection of their lives as well.

As I've always said, I'm amazed at the way Bernstein has molded the content on the Score. It really is amazing. It's all about hate and anger. Bernstein did this. Mitch and Zimmerman have allowed this to happen. Bernstein runs the Score. He made Goff and Bernstein into a bad version of himself. I don't listen to Ranger, but based on the stuff B&B play of him, he's become Bernstein too.
