I didn't want to put it in the HBO thread as I fear we may have already put too many spoilers in there. And there is no book section so here is as good as any.

WARNING - Spoilers may happen here. Do not read this thread unless you have finished the 4 previous books and a good chunk if not all of this one. On the same note it may be helpful to preface spoilers and white out the text just in case.

Here is a good non spoiler review to help hold you over until tomorrow :)

I dont know the rule as far as Kindle's go, I dont know if you can purchase the book right away. If you cant I will have to break down and drive to the bookstore like a chump.

You can purchase it for Kindle right now, to be e-delivered tomorrow.

Thanks, will order it as soon as I get home. I just blew a load in my e-pants.

Flagon of Dornish Red and starting Tyrion's second chapter. Man it really feels good to read Tyrion again - can't believe its been 11 years since we have had fresh material for him.

All of the sudden Daenerys is the belle of the ball.

Everyone wants to be with her.

It must be her wonderful dragons.

EDIT: Fixed

Yeah I want to murder the Boltons.

Lord Snow is the shit. Parleying with the King and his council, dealing with the Lady Melisandre, and commanding the Nights Watch have made his chapters the most interesting so far.

   @ Tyrion's chapter

Halfway through. A bit let down with the Daenerys story thus far, but everything else is top notch.

Can't believe the original guys who recommended this to the board like jackref have had to wait 11 years.

It was a long wait. Lots of cursing at Martin and his globe trotting Con attending.

Halfway through Asha's first chapter - she is a durty naughty! HIYO!!! Great pace of the book and look forward to all of Dany's suitors finally meeting and see how that plays out.

Only about 8% done according to the Kindle. I havent had the time yet to read. Tomorrow night I am going to put in a good 4-5 hours. So far Dany seems to have bitten off more than she can chew and Jon is showing that he has some mighty big balls to stand up to Stannis.

There is about 1000 pages Hank so you can loosely base your percentage/page count on that ratio.

Just passed page 400 - fucking A. I want to read and tear through it but at the same time want to savor it because it has been 11 long years for this. I am forcing myself to take breaks every couple chapters.

750 pages down.

Tyrion is having a hell of a time.

So are the heirs of Balon.

About 30 percent done so I suppose that puts me around 330 pages in. I never thought I would say this but I feel bad for Theon. He deserves to die for what he did but the whole Reek thing is just brutal.

I dont how to feel about the Griff thing. It seems like some lazy writing, Martin was confused with where he wanted the story to go so he just threw in a new super secret, important character.

I am starting to wonder just who Varys is as well. This guy is pulling strings for years, all around the world.

Agreed on all counts. The Reek chapters are very hard to read. Being inside the head of someone so broken, its uncomfortable.

I said the exact same thing about Young Griff. Old Griff we knew was over there, references were made to it in either Clash or Storm (cant' remember off the top of my head). But the fact that another child swap happened kind of irked me.

Interesting turn of events for Victarion... Mereen is in for some shit here pretty soon. Greyjoys, Yunkai, slaves, sellswords, Unsullied, Brazen Beasts, oh and dragons - add in the flux going around and who the hell is going to survive??
