You've done nothing but make excuses. It's too early. It's too cold. We've run into tough teams. The umps fucked us. Been a lotta injuries. Young players make some mistakes. I'm sure there's more. But I love when they start with a 'I don't make excuses' then make excuses:

“And (there were) some comments made (by umpires) and other stuff that irritated me.”

I take that bolded line to mean that even the umpires are laughing at him. I am convinced that he's a total laughingstock around the entire league.

Defend him all you want. He is fucking awful and no other major league team would employ him as manager.

You need to get your dick out of his ass. You don't complain about the umps when you have played like shit for the whole season. The umps didn't get them 20 games under .500.

Quade is a joke. Hendry is a joke and fanboy Ricketts running the team is a joke. If you can't see how fucked the Cubs are then you are also a joke.

It's aimed at Hendry,Rickett's, Quade and the players. Who else am I forgetting. The groundskeeper?

He is the reason they are 20 games out instead of 15 games out. Everyone knew this team would suck and that Quade would be a lame duck manager. Everyone knows that without firing Hendry things don't start getting better. I honestly could care less who manages this team but I am sick and fucking tired of seeing Quades shit show effort. Send him and Riggens down the fucking river asap.

Quade never should have been hired because he is totally incompetent and has no business being a big league manager period. The more important fact is he has no ability to develop young talent or talent in general. He almost blew Dempsters arm up in April, he destroyed Mateo by pitching him 5 innings when he is a short reliever and he has no clue when it comes to when to pull a pitcher, etc.

I am confident a real manager knows how to manage a fucking pitching staff, not to mention the rest of the roster. This ass clown can't manage if his life depended on it and Ricketts should put him and Hendry out of their (and our) misery.

I don't give a shit how bad everyone in ever other job is. I want a manager that demands that his team play fundamental baseball. This shit effort and ass kissing and excuse making by him is intolerable.

Bullshit IMU. Clint Hurdle was available as was Eric Wedge who is doing reasonably well in Seattle. They also could have made a run at Kirk Gibson before the interim tag was removed.

Ramirez, Soriano, Zambrano, Fukudome, etc. are all known entities. There is nothing more to learn from them playing. The one player you might have had a chance to move--when he was decent (Marmol) -- is now destroyed and won't get you squat in a trade.

Hendry better trade Fuk sooner than later and let Jackson or Flaherty get some big league OF time.

Seattle lost...what...8 straight now?

And how many jobs have those two been fired from combined? Gotta be at least 6+, eh?

Do you want Castro to learn how to ignore his manager, laugh at him being a huge douche and play with the same effort as his teammates? The few worthwhile parts of this team need to learn things the right way.

Unfortunately that ship has sailed. Fuk has dropped like a rock to the surprise of no one:

AVG/OBP
April .383/.486
May .247/.389
June .229/.315
July .244/.295

Quad is a reflection of who hired him. Who his buddy is. Hendry! He is a failure right along with this team & whole organization. I am eating tickets left & right because there is NO REASON to go watch this crap fest. NONE!

Now, I don't care who you are...but if I'm the fucking manager and I am getting bad calls from the imps...I get run once, twice, three times...who cares? I don't count ...I do what is necessary to get respect and draw attention to bad umpiring. He didn't even go out on the call at second today. Why? I don't care if you were just out there on the previous play...Do what you gotta do...But fuck him. Fuck this team. I've been done for a while but Ricketts is my number one POS right now.

Um, ok.
This wasn't a "blame Quade for being 20 games out thread".
It was a "mock Quade for crying about umps (and weather and injuries and raw players and whatever else he cries about" thread.
Then the part about what I suspect is evidence that the umps are laughing at him.

Bullshit. He is a kid and he needs to learn how to play the game the right way. Let us not forget. He was not some suburban kid watching cubs games on WGN and hoping 1 day he would play there. He has probably made more money in his career than 5 generations of his family had over their lifetime. He needs a guide.

OK, Hawk.

Sure there was a blown call at 2nd base. But lets say the guy was called out. Wood still gave up a walk (on 4 straight pitches), then a hit. So the Marlins win that game 6-5 instead of 7-5.

That would'be been the third out, no?

Quade is certainly not the main cause of the Cubs struggles, but he certainly has shown he is not part of the solution either.

immessedup17 wrote:
If this team was full of All-Stars, the Cubs would be in first-place by a few games, and Quade's in-game managerial skills wouldn't even be on the radar.

Disagree. I know he is working with a piecemeal roster at best, but he's still made a lot of bad moves.

This thread is strange. The excuse for Quade being bad at his job is that it doesn't matter if he's bad at his job?

But if he had a closer who has issues with control, after 2 walks in a row a better manager might have somebody else warming up in the pen, and after another walk might have brought him in.

Thats just one recent example of something not good that Quade has done.

With this team, he can't be good at his job, that is all I'm saying.
Sure he can be. Every manager can do the job well or poorly. It's not like this board is filled with people mad at him for not winning 95 games. I see a lot of well thought out posts that explain specific things he is doing wrong. He is 100% in control of those. Baseball is a sport where you can judge a manager based on the decisions he makes and the way he is carrying himself. Darkside, who obviously is a smart and well educated man, has done that in this thread.

Christ man. Now I'm in for it.

IMU, I'm not saying he's a bad manager based on the W/L record. Only that he's a bad manager based on the things he does.
For example the Castro flippyflopping in the batting order. Confounding. The poor bullpen management is pretty significant. Yes, he's been given poor players. But he's been managing poor players poorly.

That all being said, this wasn't a "trash Quade" or "Fire Quade" thread. It was about the ridiculous shit he said in that quote.
