Saw it last night at midnight... I guess that is technically this morning though, whatever...

Movie was great, if you read the books it stays fairly close to the ending. A few extras for laughs are thrown in and some may complain that Neville gets a little too much screen time at the end. I didnt care it was still good.

:drunken: :bom: 8) :D out of  :alien:  :eye:

And you're teasing me because of rooftop blowjobs?

What time is your LARP date this weekend?

Even I have limits to my nerdliness. And I didnt dress up unlike 50% of the theatre. The people dressed like Voldemort were particularly odd. They pulled pantyhose down over their heads in order to make it look like they didnt have a nose. I thought I was being robbed for a moment.

My wife went to a midnight showing last night too. She also went to the midnight opening for Part 1 and had alot of good stories about the nerdiness of the crowd.

Did the crackhead have pantyhose over his head while receiving the rooftop blowjob?

My husband's company puts on client family night. One of the consistently highest rated events is always the prescreening movie night. He had to stay last night for it.

It has been a bad long week here...throwing out food, dog is sick, kids are sun burned, having to shuffle things back and forth because we stayed at my parents, etc...He was suppose to be on the noon flight but has been delayed until at least 4.

I fucking hate Harry Potter.

So that's the excuse she's been giving you?

I guess the lightbulb will go off in your head down the road when you realize there hasn't been 25 Harry Potter movies with midnight showings.

just got back. really nice audience. respectful, and very energetic. lotta applause a few times, and some tears at others.

honestly, this movie series has never been one i've warmed up to. i've always felt that the films have lacked the one thing that i really actually thought set the books apart from a lot of other childrens' books, and that's real character development. harry goes through changes, like any kid, and becomes an adult by the end and we've taken a very thoroughly entertaining journey with him the entire way. he did some things that were good, some things that got under the skin, some things that were just because he was an adolescent jackass...and some things because he was just like his dad (also a jackass).

the movies gloss over every trait of harry potter so we're just left with this kid with glasses who can do cool looking things, and I guess, for its aesthetic purposes, the film series has been successful. but not special.

and that's how i felt about this conclusion. the book was very gripping and satisfying but to me the movie was somewhat empty. and the fact that harry doesn't touch his forehead at the end and feel that "all is well" is kind of symbolic of the fact that we never see him feel anything at all. he just bounced through each movie like a pinball, and while everything that should happen in its proper order does happen...it didn't move me at all.

only "prisoner of azkaban" and "half-blood prince" i felt were *strong* movies. the rest have been window dressing. yes, very good looking, very convincing...but nothing more.

:D :D out of :D :D :D :D

Just back got to agree with Zach on most stuff although the one thing I really did like was they kept it from being a straight harry movie and did not remove Nevile from the plot, kudos. His little side bit about Luna was terrific and something I thought should have been in the book.
Radcliffe carries this movie and shows what a good actor he can become if he can over come the typecasting. Sadly Grinch is not given full wings in this movie and they even steal what I think is Rons best line in the entire series when they are at Kings Crossing at the final scene. They also left out what became of Nevile.I did like the added scene from the book of how some of the characters girded themselves for battle esp the twins.
There was a recent MTV poll of your favorite HP character and to everyone surprise it was Prof Snape. WOw did Richman pull one out of the hat for this one. Tom Felton(Draco Malfoy) was given some leg room that I was glad they did not cut and he once again gives a fine performance.
3 out of 5 good but part one was tons better and felt fuller.

Over all 4 out of 5 Prisoner was the best movie of the series.

just got back as well.

I thought as far as wrapping up a series, it was a decent movie. I thought they did a decent job with the dialog in explaining the Elder wand owner. Snapes pensieve "dreamscape" was one of the best of those types of scenes in the series.
everyone clapped at the Mrs. Weasley/Bellatrix scene... to be expected...

Phoenix is probably my favorite.

but i liked this one.

:D :D :D  out of :D :D :D :D

Doug as I said I am glad they kept to the books and showed how much a true hero Snape was

yeah, that was pretty cool. the GF hadn't read the books so, she really liked that scene quite a bit.

Oh, that's right. The autobots helped Vancouver burn their city because they lost to T-Ball.
