What I find interesting is the guy who claims that "settling" is the wrong way to go, lives in a rental with a roommate. But you're wrong for "settling" for a cheaper MP3 player.
Incidently, I bought the wife a Zune a few years ago. 16gig. I have an incredible collection of mp3's from my MP3 Rocketpro, so it's nice because we just load up mp3's without itunes making us pay licensing or pay for content or have to deal with proprietary codecs. Plus, not having to deal with the uber elite Apple crowd is nice.

My ex had an iPod. I had one of the Sandisc devices. The biggest difference I noticed was that mine had a better battery life, and I could use Windows Media Player to load my device. I like the interface of WMP better than anything on iTunes.

The fact is that as soon as I got a phone capable of playing mp3's, the need for a separate device went away.

I would much rather spend $40 at the grocery store on frozen foods and yorgurt and whatnot than spend $8-10 per day going out for lunch. That way, I save up to do something really cool. Like spend a week in Mexico with my girlfriend and while there, take a nice boat ride or golf on the ocean.

Ok......and I took it that way because you previous like 7 posts in this thread came off to me as "I am doing this and would not do this, therefore I am better than you."

Doesn't matter if you meant it that way or not, thats the way it came off. You have come off that way more and more and more over the past several weeks. You weren't like that before nearly as much and you certainly weren't that way in person. And I don't think I've changed at all...

That's fine, but it's easier to just treat you like it is rather than try and guess whether you are. I'll be honest. I don't see a whole lot of difference between normal IMU and the supposed alter ego of IMU the board hero who is the only reason that threads go beyond two pages.

You probably aren't like that in real life because you back down like you did to chas. You probably think it though.

i got an iPod nano as a gift years ago and i've used it for the gym, and on flights before i got my laptop. i'm not that impressed.

if you have the protective plastic on it, it's hard to turn it off, which is annoying...sometimes it'll turn itself back on for some reason, it won't allow you to use two different computers that has iTunes to redistribute songs, and the battery life sucks.

also recently the cable to hook it up to the computer recently malfunctioned so i had to buy another.
