Besides people wanting to hear sports talk that ISN'T ESPN in the morning, who "loves" these guys? Seriously? Do they have any sort of fanbase that loves what they do? I don't follow much of the ESPN programming, but I know that just about every show on WSCR has a core group of hardcore fans.....obviously the 2nd and 3rd show of the day have the most, but even the ear rapist known as Larry Holmes (somehow) has fans. Hell, Les has a usual group of guys that tune in/call in etc.

But in my times of listening in the morning, I don't ever recall a go-to caller or an emailer/texter that always has a thought. It's mostly Mulligan yammering on about something Irish/Scottish and Hanley talking about how long he's been doing the sports thing. Oh, and them doing it at the same time - never heard a show that LOVES to talk over eachother more than these two.

SO, who are you? Do you exist? If Waddle and Silvy or Carmen, Jurko and Harry can have "fan(s)"....surely these guys do, RIGHT?

I have no problem with Mulli and Hanley. If that qualifies me as a fan, then so be it. Put me on the list.

They get about 5 minutes of my time every other day. I don't hate them but I'm not a big fan.

This pretty much sums up my interest in them. They are on for the 15 minutes I drive to work. They never really incite a reaction from me one way or the other. And this is coming from a guy who was a "fan" of Mike and Mike for years. I just got to the point where I couldn't stomach Golic anymore. At least Mully and Hanley talk about Chicago sports.

I would say they dont have fans. The station has fans and these guys dont drive people away from the station. Like it or not, they get good ratings.

Don't you know yet if you don't hate everyone you must be an ALS'er.

Let's make a quick study in HATE here.

Gloopan, no doubt #1 Mac hater, but yet sure seems to listen.

Now unless he tells me he loves M&H and thus ends up listening to Mac? Otherwise I can only chalk it up to jealousy.

Ah, so we move from wanting to fire Spiegs to wanting to fire Mully and Hanley.

Would that you'd exert your energy towards getting rid of Loho, but such is not to be.

Lets see: one has a boisterous voice and the other kinda soft. They got standards for how edgy the show gets; not a free for all. And they both climbed out of the hole North left that show in, and beat Mike & Mike...

They're alright with me.

My hatred has waned, but this is just a blah show. They have some decent guests on, and that probably is what keeps me listening. I also love hearing these guys at around 7:00 when they go through the headlines, especially on days like today when both teams lose. They overreact to each loss.

I listen only because they are local, and because I'm in the car for a fairly short amount of time in the AM. If ESPN had anybody on that was talking local sports (and I mean anybody- North, Salisbury, etc) I would listen to them over M&H.

Agreed.

I call them Corny and Yell-Again, although both of those terms refer to Mulligan.

If you are streaming and can get over the fact that it's a national show then you should be listening to the Steve Czaban show over this one.

It's a cliche I know, but to me, they are the lesser of two evils. The one thing that grates on me the most though is the "comedy" aspect of the show. I know RPB has touched on it before, but it's just so bad. Whether it's terrible timing, horrible punch lines or the unnecessary laughter, it becomes unbearable so therefore I'm forced to sample M&M from time to time.

Mully is very annoying on the show. He trys to act like this know it all about national sports and he just comes off ignorant. I really respect the oppinion of Brian Hanley; the show is a lot better when Barry Rozner fills in for Mully.

This I agree with. M&H don't seem to go well together, and it was difficult to figure out where the problem was. Hearing them separately with fill-ins, I prefer Hanley I think, and the Hanley/Rozner pairing has been a much easier listen this week.

FWIW, I know many people don't like Rozner, but I could name several regular hosts on the score that I would rather have Barry replace full time.

Hint hint zaidman, finfer, spiegle hint hint

I enjoyed them far more back when they were doing the 10a-12p shift. I get the feeling that they are a lot more comfortable now than they were then. Their personalities just annoy me sometimes. Not sure if baseball season brings out the worst in them, but I think of their weekly segment with Ken Rosenthal. While Kenny comes across as a d-bag, I oft find Mully and Hanley to show a huge amount of ignorance when talking to that guy or even Peter Gammons.

rozner and hanley was a good week, much better pairing..mulligan should be a brad biggs and only come on to talk bears football a dozen times a year and then disappear.

mully came back from idaho today

edit: nevermind, Brad Biggs is hosting, sounding as high as ever. That guy had to have smoked epic amounts of dro during his developmental years so as to impede his speech forever. Apologies in advance if there is something legitimately wrong with him.

Listened for about 3 minutes this morning.

I was treated to them talking about Sox playoff odds which they went to cool standings...or Cruel Standings as they hilariously coined it. After some discussion about the Sox 9% chance to make the playoffs according to the website they touched on that the Royals have a .4% chance to make the playoffs which was uproariously compared to Adam Dunn's BA against lefties.

Who can listen to this? It's worse than the Saloon.
