so for the 5 minute segment Danny Mac had during the '10 stanley cup finals, you guys erroneously referred to Gargano as "the philly mike north" which could not be more inaccurate...but i found it amusing that mike north was just on gargano's show, and gargano ate it up.

now...of course, this was a PR puff piece...just a "good ole chicago guy" doing a little interview...i don't know what the backstory of why he was on was...i thought at first it was because of the philly/cubs series the last few days...but mike north is a white sox fan, so that wouldn't really matter.

not that anybody outside of chicago gives a damn about the chicago white sox or the rivalry with cubs fans.

gargano's always liked chicago, and always talks highly of their teams when they're not playing philly. he was pretty respectful of the blackhawks when they won, and was the bulls' biggest fan especially against the heat in this year's playoffs.

North has Gargano on his Fox show quite a bit from what I've heard.

after north was off, gargano did make some more references to him, so that doesn't surprise me.

WIP is Philadelphia's Score (right down to CBS buying them up). Their FOTS is a guy named Howard Eskin, a glad-hander in a fur coat. A Jewish Chet Coppock. He once cybered with a suicidal divorcee.

face of the station.

Quote:
Though Howard regularly initiates calls with comments such as "never had a bad day in my life" or "another day in paradise", he is known to be short-tempered and easily angered on his radio show if a particular caller does not agree with his viewpoints. He frequently refers to a caller as a "genius" or "chief" (both sarcastically), a "dope", an "idiot", a "nitwit", a "creep" or a "moron".

Got a little Bernstein in him!

Quote:
He is known to ask female callers about preparing dinner or washing the laundry and he calls obviously black callers "dawg" while sarcastically closing those conversations with the urban vernacular "holla". In addition, Italian callers are often addressed as "cuzz" and Dallas Cowboys' fans are termed "cock-a-roaches".

Got a little Mike North in him! Shit, forget Jason as the culmination of all sports talk personalities. Clearly, Howard Eskin is destined to take over the Score.

he does have a bernsteinish leaning but bernstein can at least have a sense of humor about things.
