I thought this flick looked like another marginally funny Farrelly Bros. movie now that Todd Phillips and Judd Apatow have taken over the comedy world.

Very funny flick - then again maybe I cab relate to the two schmucks in the movie.

I saw this when it was in the theater...it had it's moments but it's not something I would feel the need to watch again any time soon...

I agree that's it's not up there with the classics, but man alive, it's got it's moments. To me it ranks up there with Bridesmaids and Horrible Bosses and blows Hangover Part Two right out of the water.

This movie is hysterical. It takes 2 or 3 veiwings (like any good comedy) to get alot of the jokes. There are plenty of big laugh jokes and also alot of subtle jokes that take a few times to catch them. This is my 2nd favorite comedy of the past 5 years. Stepbrothers being number one of course.

Last 5 years? Let's see, here's mine:

1. Tropic Thunder (2008)

2. Borat (2006)

3. Superbad (2007)

4. Hangover (2009)

5. MacGruber (2010)

Honorable Mention: Foot Fist Way (2006), Pineapple Express(2008), Grandma's Boy(2006), Forgetting Sarah Marshall (2008)

Will have to check out HP if you say it stacks up to these.

Any list that has MacGruber in it cannot be taken seriously. Pineapple Express was mediocre at best. FSM was ok but not something I would watch repeatedly. And Hangover does not stand up to repeated viewings like StepBrothers or Grandma's Boy.

"super bad" is still the best comedy i think i've seen in the past 10 years. "tropic thunder" had a great first hour and wound up being overall a very funny movie but the third act kinda loses some of its humor...still loved it though.

"pineapple express" was a disappointment. had some laughs but went on way too long and there were stupid subplots that never went anywhere.

"hangover" and "wedding crashers" are on my "most overrated comedies" list. "crashers" especially because the ending was so ridiculously trite it made me sick.

there's also "zoolander" which i'd put in my top 5, too...i'd have to agree on "anchorman" and "team america". got a little short sighted there. "40 year old virgin" is still my favorite apatow directed movie, i think.

I was chuckling thinking about the hot tub scene and the chick that couldn't puke yesterday. The movie is f'n funny - FAR exceeded my low expectations. Jenna Fisher was Aldo damned saucy looking in it!

another funny scene in which the two schmucks don't know they're being watched by everybody on a surveillance camera: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_PDAQzB1 ... re=related

After two weeks away from the warden - I picked it up on the way home from Red Box. The surveillance camera scene and the fart scene are amongst the funniest. And the hot tub scene was not very kind to Irish people.

The wife was laughing quite a bit... She'd never admit liking it though. Kinda like her philosophy on me I guess.

Sure didn't need the hot tub scene (didn't do much to add to the story, but even out the nude scene gender equality), but there were a ton of funny moments. The psycho kid from the coffee shop obseesed with the Australian chick made it pretty damn hilarious. I kept thinking that he was Bud Bundy.

To me Hall Pass wasn't the worst movie I have ever scene...but the writing wasn't there though. I feel like I might be the only person who actually disliked Bridesmaids (had too many chick flick elements in it)
My top 5 comedies of the 2000's
1.Idiocracy
2.Superbad
3.The Hangover
4.Meet the Parents
5.Old School
Honorable Mentions: Due Date,Horrible Boses, Wedding Crashers,Anchorman, Role Models, PineApple Express

Rented it over the weekend. A couple of decent moments. But, overall, just exactly what you would expect it to be. Not worth the 6 bucks.

The blonde chick was ridiculously hot, though. That almost made it worth it.

I liked Hall Pass, but they spent too much time on the wives, the wives weren't really funny. I would have focused more the the husbands.

You sure you don't wanna take that back before it gets misinterpreted, enigramma?

Yeah, I kind of thought about that. The wives were nice to look at, but the guys were funny due to their incompetence on the dating scene, which I know all about :)

Hall Pass sucked.

All of you forgot to put American Pie onto your list over the last 10 years.
