finally, Hendry was bullied

Finally, somebody made him eat a contract

for far too long, he has dumped bad contracts on other teams instead of being forced to eat it like most GM's would have to

Finally, this time, the Cubs will be responsible for all but $775,000 of Fukudome's contract

I hated Fukudome since Day 1 and never bought into the hype and the T-shirts

When the Cubs signed him,I was saying that's a lot of cash for someone who never played 1 inning of MLB. It's amazing how not only the Cubs,but plenty of other teams (including the White Sox) thought he was "something". He is a fine 4th OF worth about 1.2 mil a season,nothing more.

Well that Dice K deal didn't really work out for the BoSox either. Japan is just like AAA just because you are good there doesn't mean it will translate when you play the best in the world.

Well the White Sox did offer him more money but Fukudome chose the Cubs because he thought the White Sox were a joke

exactly ...Fukudome wasnt offered that much money by other teams...he came to the Cubs only because hendry made a bombastic splash offer that couldnt be refused...otherwise, reports said he was gonna be a Padre

yes they did...thats why he came to the Cubs...Hendry overpowered everybody else with the most money...otherwise, the Padres were next in line
