Since the Bears have not upgraded any position and (from what I can tell) haven't really spent any money, who is left in FA that they are going to sign to spend the $30M they MUST spend to reach the floor?

We need help all over the field, but no big names seem to be left. Who should the Bears bring in that is left?

Dude, pick a fucking lane. You were the one complaining that they needed to bring in someone new to replace Olin and now you are whining because they have not upgraded at any position. The bottom line here is that meatballs like you are not going to be happy with any moves the Bears make this offseason.

Yeah, they should have replaced Olin, with one of the good Centers available. Not that guy.

And I would be plenty happy with a move the Bears will make, if they make one that is something more than a roster filler.

Again pick a lane. You listed Spencer as an OL that was better than what the Bears currently have.

Roy Williams is better than any receiver on the Bears so that's an improvement.

Marion Barber is better than Chester Taylor so they made their running back position stronger.

Matt Spaeth is an upgrade from the previous tight end.

That's 3 positions improved.

Touche. My mistake.

Still, the Bears need to get more help in there and they haven't shown any other pick ups to improve the Gaurd/Tackle position, Linebackers, Defensive Back.

Kelvin Hayden and Assante Samuels can be gotten. Plenty of vetern LB's out there. Tatoupu is available now. Carl Nicks available for the OL. I guess I have no faith in Jerry Angelo as I watch teams like the Eagles using this FA period to stock up big time.

I am happy and surprised at what the Bears did. Bit disappointed they didn't go after Asomugha, but whatever. I think Angelo is finally getting it in that, hard decisions must be made to make your team a playoff contender year in and year out.
I think Williams has something to prove and will flourish under Martz and Darryl Drake. I also believe Barber will be the 3rd and 1 threat the Bears lacked last year.

Don't know much about Spencer, but he is in his prime and will help the OL.

What makes you think he has a plan? It looks to me that he is piecing this team together year by year as he always does.

Has anybody heard about an extension for Lovie?

My favorite Roy Williams moment came during the Bears first game of the 2006-07 season against the Lions, back when Rex Grossman was lighting the world on fire for the first ~5 weeks or whatever it was.

Down 24-0 @ Soldier Field early in the third quarter, the Lions' Jon Kitna completed a pass to Roy Will for a first down near midfield, which prompted him to make a demonstrably emphatic first down gesture right in the face of the Bears defense.

The Lions picked up on Roy's inspirational gesture and would go on to to send a message to the Bears by scoring a touchdown, thus ensuring they'd only lose the game by a 34-7 margin. That's the kind of winning attitude that's going to make Roy a fan favorite here in Bear country.

I believe they have to reach that number by the end of the year, so I think if they restructure deals or resign guys that might count.

I heard some talk on the radio that they may try to bring in another CB and move Tillman to S. If they can get an above average replacement for Tillman I think this would be a significant upgrade to the defense.

I think Tilman would be a great FS at this stage. He has obviously lost a few steps as a corner. Too bad the Bears weren't the type of team that would go after a legit FA like Ashomuga and make this happen. Instead they will just bring in whoever was the 2nd corner from Vanderbilt that went undrafted last year.

The cap levels don't apply until next year. Per John Clayton.

reminding everyone that the minimum spend of 89 percent doesn't start until 2013.

I was hoping the Bear would sign LB Justin Durant from Jax...but the fucking Lions just signed him.
