I survived Lakemoorfest 2011...

That was a thing...good to see everyone in attendance. Thanks to Darko and D-Dub for hosting, and for clearing a space on the floor for me to pass out at 3 in the morning.

Shoutout to W-Z for having the cover song of the night Be niiiicceeeeee

Don Tiny wins the "Parking like a drunk that spent 12 hours at the bar" award for his police bringing parking job:

Please note that he was apparently stone sober when he did this, too.

It rained, meh. Stoneroses and kids appeared, which was pretty cool, but one of the kids in tow claimed to be a Red Sox fan. I'm not sure if they're related by blood, or if stoneroses makes the kid sleep out back or something. T-Bone, thanks for bringing the wings...they were quite tasty. Ginger is a really sweet pup too. Lipid, well done not bringing half of Idaho's potato crop this year...at least you shouldn't lose another cooler this time. Donspiracy and band were pretty good, considering it was their first time playing together, so I was told. As always it was good to see the Hoffy's, Douchebag, Frank, Doug, and RPB.

Yeah, Don Tiny's appearance will be discussed for years.
You see how he parked there... he started by pulling up to one of the cars, and for a second it looked like he was seriously contemplating a parallel park job, the he eyeballed it, decided he didn't have the room and kind of just pulled right between those cars and onto the Bocce Ball playing surface. He gets out and screams "What do you want from me, I'm handicapped."
The cops did show up after that, but the came because they thought WE called the police.
They also showed up later when butch was leaving. I thought for sure he was going to get a DUI but the cop told him to shut the car off and go to sleep. Nice. Then he hassled me about Zacks car. Kinda playing good cop bad cop but all in one cop. It was something.
Ok, so Don and the Pirates were pretty good. I was shocked they never played together before. Enjoyment.
Zack covered "Bee Nize muffer bee nize". I think that's going to be a requirement now.
I felt a bit bad about how I greeted Stoneroses, he came up and I didn't recognize him, and he said something like "Where is Frank?" and I'm like I dunno and he says whose place is this and I said mine and then I found out he's a real live human. I think I might have told him I was glad he was real about 10 times. I don't think I made a good impression. One of the kids went straight thru the screen door.   Lowest BAC I've ever seen do that.

Doug, you can get that cooler and tent at the tailgate or maybe we'll hook up before then. And we can trade. After all, I am the Chris in Joliet to your Darkside so to speak. I've been expecting a ransom note.

So it was positively awesome to see everyone again. Zero drama, except for the raccoon tail girl. She also appeared to be wearing a moving blanket. She also really reminded me of an actress, if I can place her I'll post the picture. Her dude looked like he wanted to hurt me.

I'll post the lost and found list later. Y'all can claim what ever.

Man those Chinese Lanterns were FLYING man. I couldn't believe how fast they were going. Freaky.
As predicted, Eaglo Jeff is still wandering around Palatine looking for either the train station or Lakemoor. We need to put one of those GPS collars on him.

Well, no one was molested. No fires. No deaths. The cat didn't attack anyone and it seemed like everyone had fun so thanks everyone!

And it should be going down again the second week of August next year.

The Red Sox kid was NOT StoneRoses' kid

He was the "neighbor kid" as SR put it

Me: So you like the Red Sox?

Kid: We'll my dad likes...

StoneRoses: Your dad likes a new team every week!

Good times. The Darkies really are tremendous hosts. The music was good. DonSpiracy put it down on the CREAM (2010 C.S.F.M.B.)

Catchin false ID's from a Mack S-P

The Board people and the non board people that attended were all cool.

Thanks

Good times indeed. Thanks to Angelo and his drum kit from the future for rocking out. Jeff on guitar, jammed well too, indeed the sound check was our first time we practiced. Yes, the girl showed up with a tail, and her boyfriend.

Thankfully the rain on delayed the fireworks, not cancel them.

So, stoneroses is bringing just "random neighbor children" to late night parties full of drugged-out, over-sexed hippies (420) and ne'er-do-wells?

Maybe that was his ward (ward)?

Many thanks must go out to the Darkside couple for hosting this event. Special thanks must go to the great Frank Costanza for playing some songs for the children, and Frank Costanza's girlfriend (Vickie? I hope) for being so nice to them and showing them around. It was excellent to meet the great Rogers Park Bryan and SJBoyd, who are the only ones understand the hilarity of John "The Otter" Forsythe. This is a very special fraternity, so I do not all of a sudden want to see people using this joke, thinking they are cool! I did not fight Crystal Lake Hoffy for a few reasons: first, he seemed nice; second, there is no way he knew that I would be there, so his wearing of the Red Sox shirt could not have been done intentionally to provoke me; and third, I grew up in New England, fools! If I pounded the skull of every person I have met with a Red Sox jersey, I would be dead or in a Connecticut State Penitentiary! The talented Wheaton Zack was a pleasure to meet in person.

I apologize to those I did not meet. Quite frankly, there were numerous unknown people just sitting there with vacant stares, like they were severely intoxicated or escaped mental patients. Given that I was with small children, I avoided those dark corners. Don Tiny blew me off, mumbling that we were enemies. Perhaps we are enemies, but I have forgotten why. It would have been considerate to at least stop by and remind me. I did not meet Eagles Fan/Video Game Addict Lipid. I guess he is my unknown enemy as well.

Every time, I show up, people always say "You are a real person." Yes, I am a real person. I love God, my family, the United States of America, and The Glorious New York Yankees. So put that in your marijuana pipe and smoke it!

Great times, indeed...glad to see everyone who could make it.

Sorry for not introducing myself Stoneroses, I was pretty intoxicated at that point and you seemed to be having a good time listening to Frank jam so I figured I wouldn't ruin that with my drunken ramblings. I got no beef with you.

Glad to hear no one got into any trouble last night. I was half asleep in the quite comfortable molestation recliner when I could hear talk of a cop, DUI and WZs car. By the way, I have no idea how that seat got its name, as I never could get it to recline and I certainly didn't wake up feeling violated.

Looking forward to Milwaukee in a few weeks. Peace!

Yeah, I don't know quite what happened there. I will say that I wasn't
feeling 100% that afternoon. Could be related to the fact that I didn't
eat much of anything that day. Picked up 6 lbs of wings and had two wings.
Not very smart on my part that is for sure.

Doug was right...I didn't show up 'til Midnight on Monday morning.

Glad everyone had fun. 8) If (weather/traffic/Mac&Meat tailgate planning) would've been better, I would've been there. Next year for sure, God willing and the creek don't rise.

Mac&Meat tailgate was decent, despite the rain. Spiegs made his outstanding grilled asparagus wrapped in bacon. Mac was showing off his Italian sausage sauteed in peppers. I really missed Buzzbait Brian being there.

Agg. Bob, myself, Mac & Jay Zawaski were about the only boarders there....I think. I left at about 5:30 with intentions of going up, but being full, too rainy and too trafficy made me change my mind. Looked at the Dan Ryan parking lot heading north while crossing the 35th st. bridge and I just couldn't stomach it.

One question...why is there always some parking or car incident at Lakemoor Fest? A curse of some sort? Hope you all have some pictures.

the deal with Z's car was simply a cop being a dick because I didn't instantly know who's care he was talking about.
Cop yelling from street at 4am: "Whose car is this?" (pointing at Z's car)
Me, not knowing whose car it is: "I don't know, let me ask the guys still here"
Cop: "So I can just tow it then? That's what I'll do. I'll have it towed"
Me: "Whatever man, let me ask whose car it is"

I knew 45 seconds later whose car it was. I went down there and asked where I should move the car.
He said "Are you Zack?". I said no, he was sleeping in the guest room.

He asked me to move it 6 inches more onto my grass (Z had basically parked his two drivers side wheels about 6 inches off the grass, so already basically 90% of the car was on the grass). "I don't want some one to hit it while driving by" was his explaination. I suppose that cars parked on the side of the road are extremely rare and most drivers have never encountered such a situation so he probably had a point.

This was going on while the cop was dealing wtih Butch who had recently started his truck after sleeping it off in the bed of the truck for about 3 hours. He was likely in no condition to drive. He was parked on the neighbor's lawn with the truck running. I thought for sure he was gonna get pinched. He told him that he knew his name, where he lived, had his license number and if his car moved before 8am he was going to have him arrested, so get back in the truck bed and sleep until then.

No worries dude, wasn't your fault. Cop was being a jag about your car at the same time he was being cool about not arresting Butch. I think he could have arrested him for being parked completely on a neighbors lawn and drunk in the drivers seat with the engine running.
