I hate to not mention Spiderman 2. Maybe I should replace Wedding Crashers w/ that one.

The Town? I noticed it last night as I went through my Directv channels...you say it's worth a watch?

I definitely think it is worth a couple hours of your time if you like bank robbery movies and car chases.
It has a solid cast and decent enough plot. I thought it ranked right up there with Point Break and Heat
for bank robbery action/drama flicks. I watched it on one of the movie channels a few weeks back and
still held up well even though I knew what was going to happen.

berenger was a badass in platoon... especially with that scar. I saw it coming when he shot that woman in the head... I just couldn't believe he did.

And this one is great acting. "I am reality"

http://thereviewbin.com/my-top-10-favorite-movies-of-the-past-10-years.htm

Some of your choices I didn't have much use for, but I totally agree with "Team America." That movie is ridiculously under-rated. It's funny on so many different levels. Ebert had a bug up his ass about it not taking a stand on the 'war on terror,' but that totally wasn't the point; the biggest point was how ridiculously shrill and empty mainstream arguments for/against the WOT were in the mainstream media; the parody was so good, that I came across tons of reviews from either side which claimed that it had skewered the other side. Mindless partisans, all, were lampooned with great precision. The secondary target was a brilliant parody of banal Michael Bay-style "action" movies. It was so spot-on in terms of 'character development,' Bay-style, with all its one-dimensional characters-as-props. On top of all that, they had tons of Python-style silly shit, and very amusing musical numbers.

On top of it all, they really went all the way with the puppets/sets. The amusing-looking puppets operate within the confines of very detailed sets, which is absurd in its own way.

Every time I see that film, I think about it for weeks afterwards. I regard it as one of the funniest films of all time.

Not really. MITC and BRick would argue the same exact point but not realize it till page 6. Meanwhile JORR would be arguing against some stat neither one has mentioned the entire time.

MITC, good to hear from you again. and yeah, every time i watch "team america", there's something else that will catch me and i'll laugh even harder. one little example...kim jong il's cats. i love the sound effects they're given.

also the "matt damon" joke never gets old for me.

it's a fantastic comedy and i think a lot of their stuff is underrated that isn't south park--"orgazmo" is a pretty damn good satire as well. but even speaking of south park, i was just listening to the "south park: bigger longer and uncut" soundtrack and forgot how clever some of those lyrics were.

trey parker and matt stone are mad geniuses.

One of the reviews I stumbled across complained that, in fact, Damon is very intelligent. Little did they know, the portrayal of Damon as a Mongoloid was based on the fact that the Damon marionette appeared to have Downs syndrome. They simply went with it, to great comedic effect.

"Southpark: Bigger, Longer, Uncut" just about did the inconceivable by more than living up to the hype. It was not only hilarious, but was hilarious in a way you wouldn't unnecessarily expect from South Park. Whether an individual was a fan of South Park or not, the film was quite amusing, and very well produced.

No doubt. Have you seen "Cannibal: the Musical"? For a college project, it's quite well developed, and pretty damn funny. I wish I lived in NY, and could see their "The Book of Mormon," as it's evidently so good as to have revitalized Broadway. A lot of people don't get/appreciate Parker and Stone, but they're clearly some of the greatest talents of our time.

If this was a 1960's list,I could add something. I can't remember the past ten years. Hey,I just saw Fright Night, that was pretty good.

yeah, even matt damon himself found it funny. and i think he's a friend of theirs.

agreed; and i marvel over the musical numbers. "south park" can also be seen as a pivotal release in the history of the MPAA because after ti was released as R instead of NC-17, the film was so crude that the MPAA started buttoning up again.

i've heard some of the songs but no, never have seen it...would love to, along with "the book of mormon". fear not; a US tour is planned starting next year and i'm sure it's bond to come to chicago. and i will definitely be there.

very good list, zizou. except "sexy beast" was made in 2000. that is a great british gangster film, though. one of ben kingsley's finest performances. "layer cake" is probably one of the best...in the last decade.

and whomever posted the comment on my website that "pan's labyrinth" wasn't good can eat a dick. seriously, what the fuck.

Semantics WZ. Shot in 2000, released in the US in 2001. Kingsley was great in that. I remember once reading he based that character on his grandmother and he was being serious.
