Jim Hendry getting the boot means that Quade is done, I am nearly certain.
New GM, new Manager. I think it goes without saying.
And without perennial survivor Rothschild around, we're talking a whole new staff coming in.
Cool.

Who's on the short list? Please don't tell me Ryno. :?

Happy that Tom said that Wilken will basically be kept and Quade is done.

Ryno

Awesome. Ryno can manage. Dawson can be the hitting coach. And the pitching coach can be Steve Trout. Maybe Ron Cey can be the third base coach and they can get Dunston to coach baserunning and 1st.

My only real issue with Ryno is his MLB seasoning. I'd much prefer a veteran Manager.
That's just me though. I know he knows the game. I know he knows how to manage.
I guess he's not the worst thing that could happen, I suppose it's more that I just figure he's a fanboy quick answer, and not quite the measured baseball decision I would have wanted. But we'll see.

Baylor, Baker and Uncle Lou all had MLB experience. Quade was doomed from the start.

I prefer my first base coaches to be a little more than average thank you very much.

But all of the retreads that are out there are pretty crappy. Bobby Valentine, Jerry Manuel, Bob Geren (sp?), Phil Garner....

Quade may not be the guy but truthfully I'd rather they give a new guy a shot than hire a guy like I listed above.

Bring in Ryno with an experience bench manager. Find a pitching coach not named Rothschild that has a track record and turn the team around in a few years. They'll have the money too with all the bad contracts coming off the books.

Miami-bound, Frank. The Miami Marlins want to make quite a splash, not only with a new ballpark opening up next spring, but I think Ozzie wants to manage NL-style baseball.

Did they officially change to Miami? Sounds better and rolls off the tongue easier.

You know there will be people clamoring for Bob Brenly again...I'm not so sure that he wants to manage a "dead ass" team that still has bad contracts even with Jim Hendry's dismissal today as General Manager.
