Its 7 games under. The Cubs have lost 9 consecutive postseason games.

Frank I think that's 8 consecutive playoff games.

Don't argue with Frank when it comes to Cubs knowledge. He is the biggest Cubs fan I know.

yeah, they were up 3-1 in 2003... so that's 3, then two three game sweeps in 07/08. case closed!

ahhh what a great way to start the weekend...7 weeks earlier than i expected this announcement and 2 years too late but better late than never. quade should savor the next 6 weeks he is surely gone after the season. maybe matt abattaclueless and the rest of these dopes who have been saying hendry is coming back and kissing his ass to stay in good graces with this turd will learn from their mistakes and try to do a better job of reporting in the future.

Even when Ricketts makes the right move, he looks like a boob. Hendry should have been gone on the 22nd when he made the decision. Then to say teams weren't giving up prospects for established players was a huge WYC. His team gave up a bunch in the spring for Garza, and the Indians and Giants gave up a ton also, to name a few. Ricketts is really lost and over matched. It's really to bad you can't fire the owner also.

Seacrest Rozner is dispensing all kinds of sass and shit-talking in regards to how inept the Ricketts Clan is in handling a major league baseball team.

This means that Rosenbloom's gonna have to up his game and claim that Ricketts eats third world children as a delicatessen tomorrow!

Or 4 under if you don't count the games since July 22 (when he was actually let go). Interesting that on July 22, the Cubs still hadn't won three in a row. That weekend vs. Houston was the first time.

Not sure if anybody posted this yet;

Gordon Whittenmeyer's headline in today's Sun-Times:
Quade has ownership support, no regrets in year of transition.

Oops.

As bad as that is, and it is very bad, the Twins are currently riding a 12-game playoff losing streak. That's got to be the all-time record. They are 3-19 in playoff games since they won the WS in 1991.

Wow, this is an amazing statistic. I wonder if there was one particular opposing team which most contributed to this losing streak. If so, that opposing team would be a very great team, indeed.

Most of those Yankee wins were on the way to dissappointment. Nothing to brag about for a 28 time champion.

A normal team could maybe brag about that, but not the Yanks.

Being 28 time champs they were bound to be the only team in baseball history to not just blow a 3-0 series lead, but blow it to their bitter rivals. Laughing out loud.
