Think Bully Hendry slowed down his overspending in the last year? think again

he took the opportunity to screw the Cubs over one last time when, already fired, he gave $2.5 million signing bonus to a 14th round pick. A dual-sport guy no less...this is from espn.com:

"RHP Dillon Maples, the Cubs' 14th-round pick in the most recent draft, made his first appearance at Wrigley Field since signing with the club last Tuesday. The Cubs signed Maples away from the University of North Carolina, where he was to play both baseball and football, for a $2.5 million signing bonus, the most ever given to a player taken after the third round"

Another Samardjia...

Take your Bully Hendry shit and run . It is old and tired. Bully Bully Bully. Shut up and go away. You are quite possibly the dumbest asshole on this board. And the most boring. Take a flying leap off a building nose first twat head.

The Bully shit is old, but his strategies that he sold Ricketts on are a joke.

They spent a ton of money in the draft this year. Gretzky, Dunston, Scissors, just to name a few. This was his Smardjza spending move. Cut a deal with that kid ahead of time, everyone knows it and thus nobody drafts these kids, because the Cubs offered them X, which is higher than what they should get. If they dont get X they just go to college and re-enter the draft 2 years later. See Tim Lincecum, former Cub draft pick.

So far, this strategy has not worked, but Hendry did out with a bang here in hopes of looking back one day and saying, I got that guy and that guy. I am sure Ricketts approved it as he thinks they need more talent in the system.

He is considered a top 3 round talent. The reason he slid so long is that most teams thought he was for sure going to UNC.
