FFXIII-2 Teaser Trailer

Do not watch this trailer unless you've beaten FFXIII, or you don't care if the majority of ending's plot is spoiled.

How did you get past the age restriction?
:)

Looks pretty cool.

Can't say I share your excitement based on that video alone...

Think of the ultimate Kingdom Hearts game...without Disney characters...but with a link storyline wise to FFXIII.

Ok, where's the video to that game? Because the one I just watched looked like the douchenozzles from Night at the Roxbury learned swordplay and magic...

Being that the game is way more than a year away from release...what exactly do you expect to see?

Also, did you watch the whole thing? There were cutscenes and gameplay...

Is it the theme that throws you off? I don't get it.

Oh wait, now I know.

It's a PS3 exclusive...now it makes sense.

Based on your description of "so awesome", I was expecting to see something more than that.

Yes I watched the whole thing...I saw the cutscenes and gameplay. Looks nice, but it really didn't make any damn sense. Bunch of guys in suits talking and then stuff starts falling from the sky and they are fighting dudes with swords and guns and magic.

Your conclusion is highly flawed and says a lot more about your bias than mine.

Is the video the only reference point you have for information to the game?

For the most part, yes. I stumbled upon the wikipedia page a few times in the past while looking for info on FFXIII, but I can't say I read a lot about it...

This thread wreeks of a FF13 evangilist who has never gone back and played through 3 or 5 via hacked roms on an emulator before they were re-released for the playstation and various handheld systems.

I have FF13 sitting there @home. I grabbed an Xbox 360 nearly a month and a half ago, and I can't find the motivation to push myself beyond a whopping 425 gamerscore or whatever.

That said, my madden is pre-ordered and I look forward to "trying to get good" at that one.

Similarly, I have enough oldschool cred to proclaim that I'd kick all of your monkey asses at NBA Jam.

I've played every single FF except Mystic Quest and FF2. I'm quite a fan of the series. I understand that any series that lasts this long would go through changes, and I don't mind most of them. I enjoy each game as its own entity.

so what do you have against FF2, eh?

Yeah, I'm gonna have to sort of disagree with you on this one, ok?

Reading the reviews and seeing an 81/77 on Metacritic...think I'll pass for now...but hopefully you enjoy it!

I'd really recommend you play this eventually Lipid, even if you wait for a price reduction. I think those 2 terrible 50-60 scores on Metacritic unfairly drop the rating. This game definitely improved on the main issues of XIII. I'm just under five hours in, and the game has already opened up exploration. I already have the choice of branched paths to advance the storyline...the customization is need. You no longer have to wait through tons of game chapters in order to unlock mechanics like paradigms, crystarium, etc... You can develop characters from the start. The battles seem a bit harder too...you already need to be using some combination of Sentinels, Medics, Saboteurs, and Synergists in some battles. You can't just use Relentless Assault for the first 20 hours of the game.

Hopefully I find the time...haven't gamed at all in a week and the little time I have gamed recently has been dedicated to Skyrim...but yeah, if I get the itch, I will most certainly give this a look.

Pretty cool official Squeenix16-bit / FFVI style recap of the first couple games, as a lead-in to the new one.

edit: After watching the whole thing, it definitely skips several important plot points. Truly a very vague recap...not really effective in explaining anything.

Not cool keefus. Your COC membership is on probation.

That was awesome but they got the music for the first Primarch battle wrong. :(
