I'll have to check that one out.

It really is fantastic, isn't it?

3 listens and it's already in my top 10 Wilco songs. What a way to open an album.

Anodyne by Uncle Tupelo is an unbelievable album. It's what great country could be.

If you like that, check out Son Volt's Trace.

In terms of Wilco, Summerteeth was my favorite album by them. Being There should have been trimmed down to 1 CD. I never understood why so people went crazy over YHF. Very good, but didn't Pitchfork give it a 10?

I was just afraid that they wouldn't put out songs like that again... the 27th can't come soon enough, this could be something special....

I have two extra tickets to their 10/5 show (SOLD OUT) in Madison. It's at the Overture Hall. Message me, if interested.

I've been working through The Whole Love the last few days and here we go...

The best of this album is way better than the best of their last album IMO, but in the Itunes reviews I saw a lot of comparisons to YHF, which I just don't see, but maybe time will change that opinion. The bright spots right off of the bat are the hard hitting tracks like "Art of Almost" "I Might" Dawned On Me" and "Whole Love" but methinks that my favorite songs off of this record are the softer acoustic songs like "Black Moon" and "Rising Red Lung"

Overall there is seemingly a lot of variation here and its only getting better the more I hear it. My initial reaction is that it is a very solid effort.

Me too.
I honestly believe that this record is every bit as good as Summerteeth or YHF.
It's bookends are 2 of the greatest songs they've ever produced, and there's not one clunker between them.
8.5/10.
I love it.

Aside from this message board I had never heard or heard of Wilco. I still have never heard them.

Today is the first day of the rest of your life.
Why not make Wilco a part of your daily musical diet?
Time is running out.

IMO every song off of YHF sans "Reservations" was great. While I agree that there isn't a clunker on The Whole love, I just don't see that level of greatness... yet...

Wow, that's interesting, Crosscheck.
I think Reservations is one of most hauntingly beautiful songs I've ever heard.
I can see why it's not everyone's cup of tea, but it's a top 10 Wilco song for me.

I removed the http://www. so I could add three.

Was it a lot of the stuff from the new album or were they all over the place?

Felt like lots of Being There and A.M. I had a view of the setlist the entire night, which surprisingly did not bother me, knowing what song was next. Judge for yourself...

Saw them in Milwaukee last Friday as well. The gf commented that he's not really moving his left arm. I noticed the same thing last night. Just found this nugget:

The price of rock: With a father who worked for decades on the railroads, Tweedy said he is always hesitant to complain or characterize being a musician as ‘work,’ but that doesn’t mean it’s not hard. “Rock-and-roll’s a contact sport,” he said, and an average of 80-100 shows a year for 17 years has taken a toll on Tweedy’s body. He admitted that he can not currently feel the thumb, index or middle finger on his left hand and that sometimes during shows his left arm goes numb, about which he self-effacingly joked that guitar players would say, “Oh, that explains it.”
