Unless you also watched "Pootie Tang," you didn't see the worst movie.

Held Up with Jamie Foxx and Nia Long gets my vote. I think I actually went to the movies to see that crap.[/list]

"Jeepers Creepers" is Scarface compared to "Battlefield Earth". That's by far the worst anything ever made.

Spmack, at least you didn't go to the movies to see Marlon Wayans and David Spade in Senseless or Jamie Foxx in Booty Call. Both done in 1997...both very very bad. And Vivica Fox looks like she got smacked in the face with a roll of dimes.

That was my junior year in HS and the only reason I went was to try to get into the pants of this hottie I was talking to. And guess what, $16 on two shitty movies and I never even got to bang her.

I would vote for Johnny Be Good starring Anthony Michael Hall circa 1988. I looked up Ebert's review to see if it really was as bad as I remember and I think he summed it up pretty well -

The people who made this movie should be ashamed of themselves.

There are a lot of good screenplays to be filmed and only a limited amount of money to go around. This movie is simply financial leakage, a squandering of resources equivalent to polluting a river or plowing under a rain forest. I'm serious. We're desperate for things to think about in this society, and these guys contribute to the situation by providing us with 86 minutes of zip. They oughta have their pictures on the post office wall.

whatever....Dr.
that movie has two of the greatest lines in a sports movie ever.

"coach, i broke my dick...."
"rub some dirt on it and get back in there"

and

"that cheerleader has no underwear on"

What I remembered most about that movie was my astonishment that Anthony Michael Hall was playing the stud QB after most of his previous movies had him playing the geek. It just didn't work for me.

Doug, perhaps I am biased against that movie due to my unsuccessful attempts to seal the deal with the nubile young lass that accompanied me.

Patience was more than just a Guns N' Roses song with her.

How about Mighty Ducks 2? GOD THAT WAS AWFUL. It also has one of the worst lines in movie history:

"Two minutes for.......Roping?"

I saw Sgt. Bilko starring Steve Martin in a movie theatre in the mid '90s.

A truly forgetable movie, even bad movies might have some memorable lines or scenes. There was nothing memorable about this movie.

It is similar to those science fiction plots where people black out and wake up two hours later not knowing what happened. I feel this way about seeing (I think?) Sgt. Bilko.

"pearl harbor" might be the most offensively bad movie made in the last 10 years; special nods to "the phantom menace" and "the crow 2: city of angels".

edit: oh and i forgot about "be cool". i wish i could forget it forever.

Worst Sports Movie co-honors (to go with any Mighty Duck movie) was Major League 3, Back in the Minors. ML2 was horrible, but how can you have a movie about a minor league team called Major League? Bakula sucked in this movie. Better than his cross-dressing role playing on Quantum Leap, but bad nevertheless.

If you're into cross dressing.

How did that series end anyway? Did he get to go home?

What about Scott Bakula makes people think he could play an athlete in movies? He's a skinny little shit, ain't he?

Well all that aside, it was a craptacular movie, that Major League 3. Also on the very bad movie list is a 2 hour BOMB the wife and i rented this weekend, An American Haunting. It was awful. You guys remember in Evil Dead, when the noises were coming from everywhere and the people in the cabin were just looking from spot to spot in the room? Well this movie had that, but it was not for satire like Evil Dead, it was a serious attempt at a scary scene, and we jsut laughed at it. God awful movie.

after seeing the remake of "the hills have eyes", "silent hill", and "pulse"--i have officially banned hollywood horror flicks for a while...the next one i think i will give a shot to is "hostel 2" since i loved the first one.

"dead silence" looked intruiging, but it was from the guy who wrote "saw".
