best news out of spring training today is that kenny rogers will start the season the DL...diagnosed with tired arm. i dunno how you get that in february. maybe he couldnt handle the extra wieght in that "clump of dirt" on his hand...

The whole contest was shady from beginning to end.

Silvy had the idea for this contest early Monday morning when I talked to him, so it had been in the works for a while. I did have a vote, and I liked mine best: "How to Win Friends and Influence People" with Cedric Benson.

But right behind that was "New Year's Eve Party Planning" with Rex Grossman. Short, sweet, to the point, and made me laugh out loud when I heard it the first time. That was my vote all along. Sorry, Frank!

Ah, I'm not buying it.

The idea was far too original, brilliant, and creative to be derived both simultaneously and independently.

Not since Newton and Leibniz created calculus concurrently and independently of each other would there have been such a meeting of the creative minds.
