Your logic is totally flawed as Quade has been playing the vets not the young talent. That is part of the reason he needs to go bye bye. My point was and is that Quade can't manage a pitching staff (not to mention the whole team) and his handling of Wells today is more evidence of his incompetency.

Wood is still more than decent as a 7-8th inning guy and is a good mentor for the young guys. Campana is valuable as a 25th man on a roster.

LOL - Wood had a good influence on The Shark and has that cut fastball now. Campana is a good guy to have on a team for defense and base stealing.

I have no problem with Wood being on the team. He is cheap and a decent set up guy who could step in to close if shit went down with Marmol and Marshall.

I wish it would happen fast, but it won't. Ricketts doesn't move quickly on anything. If something isn't announced (Regarding status of President, Manager, GM) within 48 hours of end of World Series, he is absolutely clueless.

When has Ricketts waited too long to make any move in your opinion?

I wouldn't even bother waiting for Cashman. As far as Friedman goes I would unofficially contact him or his people and see if it is worth the Cubs while to wait until the Rays are finished to make their hire. If it is obvious he has no interest then get this shit figured out already. Make the hire on a day where it is least disruptive to the playoffs and get started fixing this team.

I find this amusing. You can formulate an opinion even with a small sample size. I think it safe to say that you have on this here board. Team Ricketts has owned the team for two full years now. Look at all of the decisions that have been made inside of the Cubs in that time. Lou, Hendry, Crane, Quade hire, scouting dept. and the like. You can make the argument that not all of these things are directly related to the owner. Maybe so, but an active owner would not allow some of the shenanigans to go on that have to this point. What has he done that would indicate he is going to make any decision rapidly? He has known for some time that he needs a GM, and might even know he needs a new President too. In my opinion, based on a lack of activity in prior decisions, he will not make a decision for some time. I sincerely doubt that another successful owner would conduct business in the same manner.

Even though the sample size is not HUGE, I can still have that opinion. If I am wrong, won't be the first time. What is your opinion, even though you feel the sample size lacks depth?

Ricketts should fire Quade. There's no point in keeping him on the team. Obviously you let the new GM hire the next manager, but there's no point in waiting on Quade. Any GM who would even consider letting Quade keep his job shouldn't even be considered to be the next Cubs GM
