I did, and it was well worth the 7 bucks or whatever it was 6 months ago.

This is a really well made doc, and I enjoyed the hell out of it.

I'm really looking forward to it.

I was pissed when ESPN decided they weren't gonna air it. Glad they changed their minds.

Does Bartman still work at Hewett?

A really good friend of mine who is also a big-time collector of memorabilia bought two big framed pictures of Bartman reaching for the ball. They're both signed by Alou and they came with authentication documentation and pics of Alou signing them. He gave one of them to me. I guess because I'm a Sox fan and he figured I'd find it funny. Anyway, this friend of mine also has a friend who grew up with Bartman and who is still really close with him. My friend asked that guy if he could get Bartman to sign the pictures. The guy asked him if he was crazy. He said he wouldn't even think of asking him that. So my friend asked if Bartman ever paid with a credit card when they went out to lunch and if he did, could the guy grab the signed receipt and give it to him? I'm pretty sure the guy now thinks my friend is insane.

I'm honestly not sure. I worked there at the same time, and he was friends with my boss. I haven't been with Hewitt in over 5 years, though.

A girl I went to school with had a pretty big job with Hewitt. This chick was one of the hottest babes in the ETHS class of '81. Her name is Caryn Rowe. I think her married name is Africk. Do you know her, Boyd? And is she still pretty good for a broad in her 40s?

Name doesn't ring a bell...I was in 401k admin, though. Our dept was so big, I didn't know people that worked on the same floor as me...it was pretty much insulated to the client or clients we were contracted to. I'll tell you this much, I don't miss it one bit. And I hear it's gotten worse since they were sold to Aon.

I don't think there's a broad in the world that would mind Googling her own name and finding some goof had referred to her as "one of the hottest babes in high school".

Maybe she's ugly now and doesn't want to be reminded of the good ol' days.

They god damn well better prominently mention the million dollar flops like prior, Alex fucking Gonzalez, dusty baker, and Kerry wood (game 7). The games and series were lost on the field and for anyone to try and place blame on a fan is utter bullshit. That said...i think alou catches that ball....but the cubs still had the lead and if the pussy shortstop makes a play on a chopper two hopper bouncing waist High to him...they go to the 9th up 3 to 1. Fuck espn!

I have to watch this tonight, but it's probably going to make me punch drywall and cry. By the way, I still don't blame this nerd. I didn't fifteen seconds after it happened, and I don't now.

Gotta love starting off a Bartman and Cubs movie with the Red Sox.

The big picture focus is really about the concept of scapegoating...the director even talks about it early on.

it's patronizing to us; but it's actually the perfect way to start the episode. you can't not talk about it. not to mention the guy who made it is a red sox fan.

This is making me shake and cringe. It's not even to the Cubs yet.

I got the reason and it does fit. Just annoying that even when its not about Boston/NY, it still has to include them.

D'ya ever think of the remote possibility that he could be a poster on the board? Think about it, guy wants to be anonymous and talk about Chicago sports with his headphones on and pants around his ankles....perfect.

If he is, what poster would he be? (Obviously it would have to be one that nobody has ever met)

How about........Beardown? :P

spmack and Keeping Score, please get in on this.

jesus it's like the kennedy assassination.

i was still in DE when this happened, alone in my room watching because it was after 11pm i think my time, so everyone was in bed.

that comment about there being this lull in the stadium, i could feel it all around me, too. i knew that was it.

i still think the team needed to take a moment, meeting on the mound, something, just to re-focus.

This is really good. It amazes me how these type of pieces can really make you "feel" like it's 2003 for a half second.
