Ozzie said "he wanted to get the fuck out" in his press conference

reporter: "Would u be willing to bring some of your coaches with u?"

Ozzie: "Hell no! Theyre the ones that got me fired"

this was right after he praised the coaches and reflected on great memories with them

Sox hire Martinez...Cubs Sandberg. That would bring a little bit more to the Crosstown Classic

Thanks Oswaldo very entertaining :D

Where do you think? The only question is whether the TSA makes Cowley pull his tongue out of Ozzie's ass before they fly down.

No way that was him or his kids, based on the use of proper English/grammar.

Official statement from the White Sox;

Quote:
CHICAGO - The Chicago White Sox have agreed to Ozzie Guillen's request to be released from his contract, allowing the manager to pursue other opportunities.

"We certainly cannot thank Ozzie enough for all he has done during his eight seasons as manager of the Chicago White Sox, highlighted by an unforgettable 2005 World Series championship," said Jerry Reinsdorf, White Sox chairman. "I personally appreciate everything he has done for this organization, our fans and the city of Chicago. We shared the greatest moments together and wish him nothing but future success in baseball and in life."

Guillen, who led the White Sox to a 78-82 mark in 2011 and a 678-617 record during his eight seasons (2004-11) as manager, will not be in uniform with the White Sox for the remaining two games of the 2011 season.

The White Sox retain rights to compensation should Guillen accept a managerial position with another major league team in 2012.

Seems to me the marquis players were sick of Oz. Sounds like Buerhrle told him to shut up during his pregame dugout interview and Paulie basically said "its time for a change".

Right now the trade appears to be Ozzie for a minor league SS Osvaldo Martinez who was a top 10 Marlins prospect. He's 23 and had limited success with the bat but looks to be the Omar Vizquel replacement for 2012. There is also talk of another prospect coming to the Sox but no names mentioned yet. Martinez struggled in a midseason call up to the team and went 3-23 with the stick. At AAA this year he hit .230.

So they traded old Ozzie Guillen for a young Ozzie Guillen?

I heard the sound byte this morning. Everybody laughed.

I'm sure Joey Cora and Coop thought it was hilarious. Coop has a great sense of humor.

A baseball field manager has the least impact of any coach in major professional sports. There are very few "must have" guys and Ozzie certainly is not one of them. I think Cooper has had a greater impact on the relative success of this team during Ozzie's years of management.

I thank Ozzie for his service. He benefitted just as much from the Sox service to him as they hired a coach with a big mouth who was, at best, an afterthought on the radar of GMs.

I am very warm to the idea of Sandy Alomar Jr. being a manager with his brother being his bench coach.

Gotta love how 10 Foot Midget and others at the Score are taking credit for breaking this. Jim Margalus and others at southsidesox.com had this before they did. Supposedly, those at the Score are calling for a "Screen Grab" as evidence. Until they get that, they are just going to continue to pretend they broke this. Very professional.

Also, I am not surprised that people are shitting on Ozzie, but its idiotic. Only finishing below 4 or below in one year out of 8, basically staying in contention every year and WINNING A WORLD SERIES. Is a pretty fucking successful tenure as a baseball manager. Lots of Sox fans do not realize what they have. It was time for him to go, but don't forget that Ozzie was the best manager we have had in our lifetimes.

I had my Greg Walker breaking story on Saturday but I had to verify it with three other sources before I posted in on Monday.

Real media, not make believe media.

Also, if anyone asks me to verify anything, I will, whether I know what it is or not.
