Saw it the other night with the wife. Actually really funny. Kristin Wiig is very good in it. Not really a chick flick (due to the raunchiness of the jokes), though it does star only women.

I don't consider it a chick flick. I laughed a lot more then when I saw the Hangover. Wiig was
great. Loved her on the plane after she mixed the meds & whiskey.

Pretty solid. A great movie to frame as seeing a movie that she wants and you'll still be entertained

for a bachelor like me, this seems like a perfect "it's on hbo on a saturday night when just about nothing else is on and i've already visited spankwire" movie.

It's actually significantly funnier than Hangover 2

Bridesmaids is much, much, much funnier than Hangover II.

Anyone who wrote a review that this is like The Hangover is out of his freaking mind (still haven't seen Hangover II).

I guess it is like The Hangover...if they took out the part where they went to Las Vegas for a bachelor party and wrote the movie from a woman's perspective.

Contrary to several posts above, this is most definitely a chick flick. It attempts to disguise itself with a couple male "shit in your pants" jokes, but even those fall flat because they are from a woman's perspective. A man would understand that it's funny to shit in your pants in and of itself, not funny because it embarrasses the person who did it.

Ultimately this is a movie about relationships which makes it fall squarely into chick flick category. The real focus of the movie is not really the wedding but whether she is going to dump the bad guy who treats her badly and go for the nice cop. That's women stuff.

Oh, and the previews sell this as basically about a bachelorette party. Don't believe it. THEY DON"T EVEN GET TO THE BACHELORETTE PARTY!

The raunchieness of the whole thing is really overstated as well.

and finally can we stop with the Kristen Wiig is hot bullshit. She's not fat. She's good looking for a female comidienne (faint praise). However, when she stands next to the hot woman in the movie, you can see the dramatic difference between the two.

The movie didn't absolutely suck. It was good for a chick flick. It's just that it wasn't what it was being marketed as.

Agreed

I just watched this last night. It had its good moments like the plane and the dress shop. Jon Hamm and the fat chick were awesome

I couldn't suspend disbelief to the point where I could accept a "nice" cop.

An Irish cop in the Wisconsin State police. Couldn't they just hire ANY American actor?

Watched it last night. Really dissapointed. I don't think I had a 1 really laugh hard moment.

My wife and I couldn't figure out the accent either? I actually thought it was a bad attempt at an over the top canadian/cheesehead/"fargo" type thing.

Couldn't disagree with you more.
I laughed out loud several times. Wasn't just a movie about crapping one's pants or puking. An actual story line was established and pretty nicely developed -- in my opinion.

watched it this weekend. It was ok, not nearly as good as its been hyped up to be. I thought it was going to be all about a bachelorette party and its not about that at all. There were some funny parts, but not that many.

 :| out of   8) :@:

I'm sorry your movie isn't as good as you think it is. If it makes you feel any better I will admit to you that I really liked Fried Green Tomatos and Moonstruck.

If the name of the movie was "Bachelorette Party", I would agree with your presumption.

It's not "my" movie -- just "my" opinion about the movie.
Let me guess, you didn't like "Black Swan" because it really wasn't a movie about lesbians.

I liked Black Swan a lot cause it was a good movie.

I didn't care too much for your Bridesmaids because it wasn't that good of a movie.
