it happened to me today. i'm surrounded by Cubs fans within my workspace "area" and they were chirping about who the new owner will be....getting all excited. and i couldn't help myself to suggest, in jest, "who would want to own a loser corporation? 100 years of futility? no thank you....."

i really couldnt care less what the cubs do for the rest of my life. Chicago hadnt seen a world series title in almost 9 decades, and my team finally brought it home. thats good enough for me.

the cubs can win 2 or 3 in a span of 5 years. but as far as im concerned, that will always been second fiddle to 2005.
