Can't wait. They were so far ahead of the curve in terms of satirizing pop culture. Welcome back, Beavis and Butt-head. Glad to have them back.

Are they going to have enough material to work with? I wish this were on Comedy Central and not MTV. I can't see people tuning in to watch 1 show that makes fun of the 20 other shows on the network that no one watches and all the music videos that don't exist.

I remember buying my kids the B&B computer game. It was very funny and a great game. Long live B&B.

i found out about this about a month ago in the most random way...through wikipedia. and i think it's a great idea. contrary to what mtv spews out, there are plenty of really bad music videos (especially of the radio disney variety) that b&b can have fun with.

these are timeless characters, too. sure their taste in music may be dated (and i expect judge to be aware of that for satirical purposes). but the commentary that show is all about can always be applied to any generation. i'm stoked.

Maybe the show will be different. Instead of watching music videos, maybe they watch and mock bad reality TV.

A while ago when I first heard they were returning that was one of the rumors.

Could probably do a mix of music videos (original B&B) and the Soup (mocking reality tv) and Tosh.0 (riffing on youtube clips).
They could also mock Comedy Central's own programming, e.g., Carlos Mencia.

Exactly, & Jersey Shore is one off them.

MTV doesn't show music videos anymore. So they must have to watch something else. Probably MTV's crappy programming as suggested earlier.

According to Mike Judge on today's adam carolla podcast, UFC fights will be mercilessly mocked (wonder if they'll still be able to knock stuff as being the gay) as well as MTV's original programming and music videos. They'll also do some movie reviews. Strange: Judge says MTV has to pay for the music videos B&B use nowadays.

I listened to that podcast on the way to work this morning. I loved the part where Carolla was talking about hot female teachers who get busted for having sex with high school boys. His point was if the student beat off to the alleged crime, is it really a crime worthy of sending the teacher to prison?

Call it nostalgia, call it me being a child. There were portions of that show that I literally fell over laughing at. Porn porn porn, hey it's my sister, porn porn porn.

I will be that guy for once and again say I called this years ago. B and B, no, not them, with new story's, and making fun of reality television, would be awesome. I didn't know there were enough music videos to even fill the first episode. The subtle layers of the jokes is so great.

If anyone that reads this was ever a fan of Beavis and Butthead, I highly recommend watching.

Good for a first episode back. There really has to be a lot less commercials.

yeah i really think this is evidence that as long as mike judge is alive and well, so can beavis and butt-head.

trust me, there are videos. they may not be played on mtv anymore but they're out there. cardinal fitness "tv" plays a lot of music videos, especially those disney radio pop songs and the videos could easily be eviscerated by b & b.

welcome back, i say.

I think they should discuss the kidz bop video series. They should also start mixing in some re-runs of the old ones.

I watched it with my wife. She thought it was dumb,I thought it was great!
Are they only back once a week? Watching this makes me want to buy some B&B DVD's.
I think I have one on VHS when they worked at the burger joint.

I thought that the premiere was ok. Still dumb and funny as ever. It felt a little awkward mocking reality tv, imo. I'd still rather them make fun of or comment on music videos; it flows and transitions better. There is too much silence making fun of other tv. There's plenty of live muscial perfomances to make fun of, isn't there? Probably would have to pay to get rights to use that, I'm guessing.

I can't wait for the inevitable episodes where B&B try to use current tecnnology or use social media.....that should be a hoot..er um, tweet. :cheese: :eye:

I think I have one on VHS when they worked at the burger joint.

I went to a comic convention a couple years ago (C2E2) and a table had a DVD set that had every B&B up 'til now. It had every epidsode, including the music vids, christmas specials, promos, Letterman appearances, just about everthing B&B. It was all mostly decent quality too, sans a couple of really old episodes. It included "Frog Baseball" and the "fire" episode. It contained a total of 16 discs and it even had menus....overall, nicely done. Look for it at a table if you ever go to one of those. 8)
