B. Pitching somewhere else

C. Retired and not involved in baseball.

D. Retired as a player and in some kind of role with the team.

I've heard arguments for Sandberg saying he is a winning Cubs player which is a rarity.

If there's an argument for Sandberg who was part of 3 plus 500 teams in 15 years you could make a better argument for Sosa 7 of 13 or Wood 7 of 12.

I wonder if he has any interest in a part time baseball operations job like Maddux maybe being developed under new management.

How do you define generation? 5 years? 2007-2011: Wood?; 2002-2006: Sosa; 1997-2001: Grace; 1992-1996: Sosa; 1987-1991: Sandberg; 1982-1986: Sandberg; 1977-1981: Reuschel.

The Cubs have no real depth in the bullpen. It's Marmol, Marshall and Wood that the team feels good about. Grabow will be gone-THANK GOD. Samardjia is supposed to be groomed (not a new hairstyle-regrettably) for a spot in the rotation. So I don't see any reason not to think he will return. He wants to pitch again for the Cubs and I have to believe they will want him back too.

It's either A or D. I believe the Cubs have already said he would have a job in the organization once he retired. I also believe that Wood has said he will not play any where else anymore.
