Mark Prior throws a 2 hitter and out duels Greg Maddux. Cubs up 2-1 on the Braves. Who wants a drink?

Elmhurst Steve was there. Kerry Woods hit a homer in the bottom of the 10th to win it as the Cubs came from behind.

What's interesting about the series is if the Cubs had clinched the division 1 day later they don't beat the Braves as Kerry would have had to pitch the final game of the regular season instead of 1 and 5 of the NLDS

But you wonder if things would have been different if Clement had won game 4 against the BRaves and suddenly Wood starts game 1 against the Marlins instead of Zambrano.

Timingwas everything that year. Prior gets hurt a week before the all star break so 1 missed start was during the break. He gets hurt a week later maybe the Cubs don't win the division rhey only won by 1 game.

I remember game 5 against the Braves and Kerry pitched and hit the Cubs to victory. Hey the kid could always hit. The most memorable moment of his first game back after the elbow surgery was the homerun on the first pitch he faced.

It's a good bet any day in Cub history, regardless of the immediate outcome, is gonna end up in a season of suck. You heard it here first.
