A Hybrid movie: Over The Top/Rocky/Transformers. It's a crazy premise (boxing robots) but not really that far removed from reality.I have seen robot wars on TV,something similar to this but on a smaller scale. (Rock 'em,sock 'em Robots was a popular toy in the '60's). It stars Hugh Jackman and Evangine Lilly (Lost). It's very corny and the script has some dead weight and one weird hole in it (junkyard scene). BUT is it entertaining and a movie you can take a 8 year old to? I would say yes. You can predict the next scene through the whole movie. Things you may have seen in bigger and better movies but it still works here. I liked it a lot more than the whole Transformer series which is very loud and annoying. Not so here. The fight scenes are well spaced between the human interests story surrounding it. (Father & Son,no wife) Very similar to Stallone's Arm wrestling movie,Over the Top. All in all,I liked it and give it 3 out 5 stars.

Well, I finally went to see this today, so I figured I would give it the proper review this masterpiece deserves...but first, let's get some housekeeping out of the way...



This is a twenty I saved from the last poker game I was at...I can't be sure if it was Chris'...I'd like to think it was, but either way, it brought me great joy to be able to use it to procure one of these...



Now with that out of the way, let's get to the task at hand...

...this movie sucked...sure, it looked pretty in IMAX and all, but it was pretty horrible...just glad I didn't pay for it.
