I think incorporating "fella" into everyday conversation is a good thing.

Contest #3
=========

This is a multi-sport contest. You will be picking from pools of Teams/Golfers/Racers in order to score points in this contest. There are 9 available pools from which you will pick three.

The first sport is the College Football. For each point your team scores, you will get one point for the contest. If your team loses their game, you will be penalized 25 points. The next sport is the NFL. Again, for each point your team scores, you will get one point for the contest. If your team scores more FGs than TDs, you will be penalized 15 points. For NASCAR, you will earn points based on this formula: (31 - final position) * 2. If the value is negative, you will get zero points instead. If your driver finishes 33rd or worse (or does not start or finish the race on Sunday), you will be penalized 14 points. In the PGA, the formula is (41 - final rank) * 2. You will be penalized if your golfer finishes 50th or worse (or does not finish the tournament or misses the cut) for 15 points. The final category is English Premier League soccer. You will earn 17 points per goal scored, but you will be penalized 7 points for each goal allowed. Furthermore, you will lose 6 points if your soccer team loses the match, and you will lose 2 points if they draw.

Remember, you will be picking three of these groups. I've listed the groups in the following order: NCAA, NFL, NASCAR, Golf, Soccer
Group A: Penn State, Pittsburgh, Kasey Kahne, Roland Thatcher, Arsenal
Group B: Texas A&M, Oakland, Brad Keselowski, Jim Furyk, Swansea
Group C: Mizzou, NY Giants, Tony Stewart, Zack Johnson, Chelsea
Group D: Florida State, Atlanta, Jeff Burton, Webb Simpson, Stoke City
Group E: Georgia Tech, Green Bay, A.J. Allmendinger, Jonathon Byrd, Liverpool
Group F: USF, Baltimore, Kurt Busch, Brian Gay, Tottenham
Group G: Alabama, San Francisco, Brian Vickers, Vijay Singh, Manchester City
Group H: Georgia, Chicago, Greg Biffle, David Toms, Wolverhampton
Group I: Iowa, Tampa Bay, Jimmie Johnson, Ben Crane, Manchester United

Tie Breakers are:
1) Winner of Bears/Vikings
2) Number of Forte touchdowns (Price is Right rules apply)
3) Total Passing Yards for McNabb (Price is Right rules apply)

BlackCastle, you have earned an advantage in this contest. Please choose and submit:
Option A: Exclusive Rights - Declare in this thread by Friday at noon that you would like to have one of these groups exclusively. DDP will not be allowed to choose that group and you will be required to choose this group. If no post is made by noon on Friday, this option is off the table.
Option B: Blacklist - Choose TWO teams/golfers/racers and they will not score, nor will they incur any penalty points for either team. Please submit these two entities along with your entry.
Option C: Psychic Powers - Choose this bonus and declare a group that you think DDP will not choose as one of theirs. If you are able to choose correctly, you will have 15 points added to your final score.

Entries are due into the contest email by Friday at midnight. Results will be announced Monday morning. Next challenge will be announced Monday afternoon/evening. Elimination vote will happen on Tuesday and the next challenge will be Wednesday.

Please remember to submit COMPLETE entries! That means include your tie-breakers you goofballs.

No prob.

Team DDP picks groups A, D, and I.

Team BlackCastle picks groups B, F, and I. They also opted to use the psychic powers advantage choosing Group A.

Scoreboard is here:

You weren't supposed to pick Group A! That group sucks! :x

Oh well, we don't need the bonus to beat you if you are gambling on Arsenal and Stoke City to get you points! :P

Looks like Webb Simpson will probably post a pretty decent finish in the PGA Tour. It may come down to NASCAR and NFL to get this margin narrowed.

Haven't watched soccer at all.

Did picks whilst drinking.

Maybe I'm like the guy from Shine, but with booze.

After NASCAR, it is DDP 213, BC 116. The top groups so far are C, D, and G - with D likely to get a nice PGA bump. Blackcastle will need to hope for a 6-0 Tottenham victory and Baltimore beating Houston 47-3.

I should note that I will be in attendance at the Bears game tomorrow and you won't likely get updated standings until I get home. Assuming I am sober of course! Elimination votes will be due by 7 pm on Tuesday with any idol being played by 10 pm. You may need to get a Hail Mary TD in order to get one, but there are still a couple out there.

Wow.

For once Degenerate Dave's Psyche doesn't have to vote anyone out.

Thanks to the team members who gave ideas and participated.

Alright -- back home from watching the beloved take care of some business.

Good news is that both teams picked Ben Crane who ended up winning the PGA event. DDP also picked the 2nd place finisher Webb Simpson who was part of the overall best scoring group, group D. 210 points from that group push DDP to a decisive victory, 475 to 323. BlackCastle actually chose the overall worst group (Group F gaining 38 points -- USF was -15; Baltimore 14; Kurt Busch 36; Brian Gay -15; Tottenham 18.) The best possible score would have been D, B and and C for a total of 523 points.

In any event, BlackCastle, you must make your first votes. Votes must be in by Tuesday @ 7pm... hidden idols may be played until 9pm. Good luck.

Oh, and if you need an immunity idol, you might look here.
